[Qualitative assessment of the environment in a Psychosocial Care Center].

Unlabelled: This study is based on a cross-section of the study of Psychosocial Care Center (Caps) in the South of Brazil.

Objective: to conduct a qualitative assessment of the structure, in terms of environment, of a Caps in the interior of the State of Rio Grande do Sul. A case study was conducted on the Caps in Alegrete (RS) based on a fourth generation, constructivist and responsive assessment using a hermeneutic-dialectic approach.

[Mental health and the nurse's work].

The study aimed at knowing, with three nurses from a hospital in Pelotas, Brazil, how they perceive their mental health in relation to their work and which factors cause pleasure/suffering in their job. It relates to a descriptive, analytical research within a qualitative approach. The data were collected by means of a semi-structured interview.

[Cervix uteri cancer: a critical approach to its prevention].

This article is a pilot study of one of the authors master dissertation about problems related to the preventive measures of cervix cancer. Four women with cancer that were hospitalized at the gynecological ward or under chemotherapy treatment at a hospital in the city of Pelotas, RS, Brazil, were interviewed. Data were collected from April to June 2001, and of the women interviewed only one was examined preventively according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Health.
