Anti-biofilm activity of Pseudomonas fluorescens culture supernatants on biofilm formation of Staphylococcus epidermidis 1457.

Objective: Staphylococcus epidermidis is a skin colonizer and a major cause of nosocomial infections that can lead to sepsis. It causes opportunistic infections by forming biofilms on medical devices, which are hard to control with conventional antibiotics. In an attempt to develop its biofilm inhibitors, the culture supernatant (CS) of Pseudomonas fluorescens was assessed.
