CAR-T therapy has revolutionized the field of oncology, offering a promising treatment option for cancer patients. However, the significant morbidity associated with therapy-related toxicity presents a major challenge to its widespread use. Despite extensive research into the underlying mechanisms of CAR-T therapy-related toxicity, there are still many unknowns.

Cell therapy is at the forefront of biomedicine in oncology and regenerative medicine. However, there are still significant challenges to their wider clinical application such as limited efficacy, side effects, and logistical difficulties. One of the potential approaches that could overcome these problems is based on extracellular vesicles (EVs) as a cell-free therapy modality.

Tumor employs non-cancerous cells to gain beneficial features that promote growth and survival of cancer cells. Despite intensive research in the area of tumor microenvironment, there is still a lack of reliable and reproducible in vitro model for tumor and tumor-microenvironment cell interaction studies. Herein we report the successful development of a heterogeneous cancer-stroma sphere (CSS) model composed of prostate adenocarcinoma PC3 cells and immortalized mesenchymal stem cells (MSC).

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are pivotal players in tissue repair and hold great promise as cell therapeutic agents for regenerative medicine. Additionally, they play a significant role in the development of various human diseases. Studies on MSC biology have encountered a limiting property of these cells, which includes a low number of passages and a decrease in differentiation potential during in vitro culture.

In recent years, adoptive cell therapy has gained a new perspective of application due to the development of technologies and the successful clinical use of CAR-T cells for the treatment of patients with malignant B-cell neoplasms. However, the efficacy of CAR-T therapy against solid tumor remains a major scientific and clinical challenge. In this work, we evaluated the cytotoxicity of 2nd generation CAR-T cells against modified solid tumors cell lines-lung adenocarcinoma cell line H522, prostate carcinoma PC-3M, breast carcinoma MDA-MB-231, and epidermoid carcinoma A431 cell lines transduced with lentiviruses encoding red fluorescent protein Katushka2S and the CD19 antigen.

Tropolones are promising organic compounds that can have important biologic effects. We developed a series of new 2-quinolyl-1,3-tropolones derivatives that were prepared by the acid-catalyzed reaction of 4,7-dichloro-2-methylquinolines with 1,2-benzoquinones. 2-Quinolyl-1,3-tropolones have been synthesized and tested for their anti-proliferative activity against several human cancer cell lines.

We propose a new method for the separation of nucleic acids using multi-layered carbon nanotubes (CNTs) as an adsorbent. According to agarose gel electrophoresis, oxidized water-stable CNTs adsorb certain forms of nucleic acids, such as high molecular weight RNA, chromosomal DNA, linear and denatured forms of plasmid DNA. However, CNTs do not adsorb supercoiled form of plasmid DNA.

We studied the electrochemical properties of gold nanoparticles (GNPs) and their complexes with proteins using square-wave voltammetry. Effect of the nanoparticle size and detection procedure was explored upon the oxidation of GNPs on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE). For pre-characterized GNPs of 13, 35 and 78 nm diameter, the oxidation peak potential was +0.
