Background And Objectives: Despite increasing interest in post-intensive care unit (ICU) clinical care and management, there have been limited descriptions focused on the post-neurologic (neuro)-ICU population. Here, we describe the design of a post-neuro-ICU Neurorecovery Clinic (NRC) and present data collected regarding the clinic's population, referrals, visits, and clinician satisfaction.

Methods: This is a single-institution experience with a NRC designed to provide an infrastructure for post-ICU care to patients recovering from acute neurologic disorders or systemic conditions with neurologic sequelae.

Objectives: This feasibility study explored the impact of fostering a shelter cat on loneliness and well-being in older adults living alone without a pet. The study also examined the effect of cat fostering on older adults' interest in cat adoption when perceived barriers to adoption were removed.

With the hundreds of millions of people worldwide who have been, and continue to be, affected by pandemic coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and its chronic sequelae, strategies to improve recovery and rehabilitation from COVID-19 are critical global public health priorities. Neurologic complications have been associated with acute COVID-19 infection, usually in the setting of critical COVID-19 illness. A promising way to mitigate inequality is by addressing students' worries about belonging. But where and with whom is this social-belonging intervention effective? Here we report a team-science randomized controlled experiment with 26,911 students at 22 diverse institutions. Results showed that the social-belonging intervention, administered online before college (in under 30 minutes), increased the rate at which students completed the first year as full-time students, especially among students in groups that had historically progressed at lower rates.

Innovations that foster academic-practice partnerships can fill direct clinical care gaps and supplement faculty expertise, particularly in rural settings. An end-of-life simulation was cocreated by nursing faculty and regional certified hospice and palliative care nurses (CHPNs) as a course improvement project for traditional baccalaureate students who lacked direct care experience. Herein is described the development of a large-scale manufacturing process for molnupiravir, an orally dosed antiviral that was recently demonstrated to be efficacious for the treatment of patients with COVID-19. The yield, robustness, and efficiency of each of the five steps were improved, ultimately culminating in a 1.6-fold improvement in overall yield and a dramatic increase in the overall throughput compared to the baseline process.
