Background: Multiple Myeloma (MM) is a heterogeneous, hematological neoplasm that accounts 2% of all cancers. Although, autologous stem cell transplantation and chemotherapy are currently the most effective therapy, it carries a notable hazards, in addition for being non curative. Recently, the Clustered Regular Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats (CRISPR-cas9) has been successfully tried at the experimental level, for the treatment of several hematological malignancies.

Laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC) is a frequent malignancy with a complex and undefined etiology to date. The recently identified cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor p15 is frequently deleted in human tumors. Previous evidence has pointed to a related gene, p16, as another target for deletion.

Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), a family of proteolytic enzymes produced by both stromal and tumor cells, appear to have a key role in the events leading to local invasion and metastasis by malignant neoplasms. In the present study, we evaluated the role of MMP-2, squamous cell carcinoma antigen (SCCA), and tissue polypeptide - specific antigen (TPS) in cervical neoplasia. Using Western blotting and enzyme immunoassay (EIA), we analyzed 50 patients with cervical carcinoma (CC) and 25 normal controls for expression of MMP-2 in tissue cell lysates.

Background: Ovarian cancer represents an important problem in gynecologic oncology. A growing tumor induces the host endothelial cells to proliferate and supply the requisite vascular support allowing tumor development. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and interleukin-8 (IL-8) have been demonstrated to induce angiogenesis in epithelial tumors in vivo.

Objectives: This study was designed to detect the expression of CK-19 and CK-20 in tissue specimens and IL-6 in the sera (as a noninvasive maneuver) of bladder cancer patients. Results were correlated with the clinico-pathologic parameters, Bilharziasis and the occurrence of relapse of the carcinoma among Egyptian bladder cancer patients.

Methods: Subjects of this study were 50 cases of bladder carcinoma (19 cases were positive for Bilharziasis) as well as 20 cystitis cases as control (7 cases were positive for Bilharziasis).

Objectives: The polyamines putrescine, spermidine, and spermine, play an important role in cell proliferation, differentiation, and transformation. The aim of this study is to correlate the polyamines with apoptosis and clinico-pathologic events in Egyptian breast cancer patients.

Methods: PUT, SPD, and SPN were investigated using thin layer chromatography (TLC) and apoptosis in fresh frozen tissue specimens obtained from 40 patients suffering from breast cancer, as well as 20 patients with benign breast lesions.
