In Egypt, the distribution of black sand in various coastal regions has been readily apparent by thorough research. Unfortunately, these investigations did not measure radioactivity in black sand, particularly in the vicinity of the Red Sea. Gamma-ray spectroscopy was used to detect the naturally occurring radioactivity from U, Th, K, and Ra in black sand samples from eight locations along the Red Sea coast: Ras Elbehar, Gemsa, Hurghada Elahiaa, Hurghada Titanic, Safaga, Qusier Elsharm Alqbly, Gabal Alrosass, and Marsa Alam.

The glauconite clay was sourced from the El Gidida region of Egypt and subjected to grinding in a laboratory-type ball mill to ensure homogeneity and increase the active sites available for the adsorption process. The resulting ball milled nano clay (BMNC) was characterized using techniques such as X-ray fluorescence (XRF), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), and X-ray diffraction (XRD).

This study aimed to assess the combined effects of heat stress (HS) and black sand nanoparticles (BS-NPs) on renal function, antioxidant responses (TAC, SOD, CAT), neuro-stress indicators (AchE, cortisol), and to conduct histopathological investigations in the kidney and spleen tissues of African catfish Clarias gariepinus over a 15-day period to exposure to control, HS (32 °C), BS (6.4 g/kg diet) and HS + BS groups.

The characterization of nanocomposite (PU@nZVI) was performed by XRD, SEM-EDS, TEM and FT-IR techniques. Using the response surface methodology, we optimized the removal conditions, achieving an optimal pH of 2 and a dose of 0.

This method was based on luminescence quenching.

The analyzed elements showed an annual mean of 20.21, 2.

Kidney failure is one of the main side effects that restrict its medical use. The current study assessed the nephroprotective effects of fenofibrate and pioglitazone against the renal injury induced by doxorubicin in rats and illustrated the probable mechanisms underlying these protective effects.

Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on 25 patients (12 males and 13 females, mean age of 53.9±9.
Introduction: Direct-acting antivirals (DAAs) represent a breakthrough in hepatitis C virus (HCV) treatment as they directly inhibit HCV nonstructural (NS) proteins (NS3/4A, NS5A, and NS5B). However, ongoing debates exist regarding their relationship with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) whose incidence is widely debated among investigators. This study was conducted to identify host pharmacogenetic factors that may influence HCC incidence upon using HCV DAAs.

Aims: The present study aims to evaluate immunohistochemical localization of endocan in psoriatic skin in comparison with normal skin and to correlate its expression with the clinical and pathological data of psoriasis.
Introduction: The causal relationship between obesity and high blood pressure is established; however, the detailed pathways for such association are still under research. This work aims to assess the changes in neprilysin, vasoconstrictor and vasodilatory molecules in obese hypertensive patients undergoing laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG).
Patients: The present prospective study was done on 59 hypertensive obese patients in whom LGS was performed.
Pharmacovigilance is the pharmacological science that focuses on the safe and appropriate use of drugs.Variability in response to drug therapy in both terms of safety and efficacy is highly related to patient's personal genomics. Hence, pharmacovigilance considers pharmacogenomics methodologies in the evaluation of medicinal products.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFOsteosarcoma (OS) is the most common malignant primary bone tumour in humans and dogs. Several studies have established the vital role of parathyroid hormone-related protein (PTHrP) and its receptor (PTHR1) in bone formation and remodeling. In addition, these molecules play a role in the progression and metastasis of many human tumour types.

Commonly, a mixture of epithelial and myoepithelial cells is included in abundant stroma, which can consist of myxoid, chondroid or bony matrices. Spontaneously arising mixed tumors are rare lesions in the human breast but are common in human salivary glands and canine mammary glands.

The high adverse effects and the cost of standard health care increase the demand to discover new predictors for the progression of fibrosis in CHC patients. Our study aims to establish the relation between the angiogenic marker [vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)] and activated hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) represented by the expression of α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA) and whether these 2 markers can be used as predictors for the progression of fibrosis in patients with CHC.

These complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, by spectral data (FTIR, solid-phase (13)C NMR, UV-vis and ESR spectroscopy), by morphological observations (SEM and XRD), and by magnetic and thermal measurements. The Schiff base (2CS-Hdhba) behaves as a bidentate chelate with a single negative charge.
