Introduction: There are different types of COVID-19 vaccines approved worldwide. Since no national studies focus on vaccine-related adverse reactions and breakthrough cases, this study aimed to investigate the rate of adverse events and COVID-19 infection in medical students in Iran.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study included Iranian medical students who received two doses of COVID-19 vaccines.
Purpose: Hyperselective neurectomy (HSN) is an advanced peripheral nerve ablation procedure that can relieve spasticity and enhance the quality of life in patients with spasticity following upper motor neuron injuries. The main advantage of HSN is that it can treat spasticity as well as preserve hand function. Thus, HSN may be the procedure of choice in patients with spastic functional hands.

Instability is defined by abnormal spinal alignment under physiologic conditions (loads) such as standing, walking, bending, or lifting. Since instability poses a risk of cord damage, surgical interventions may be required for durable long-term stabilization.

Traditionally, peripheral nerve surgeries for spasticity in lower limbs were limited to selective neurectomies. Here we used hyper-selective neurectomy (HSN) to release hamstring spasticity at the muscle spindle level.

Therefore, this study was aimed to identify the factors affecting of short-and long-time of occurrence of disease relapse in patients with tuberculosis (TB) using a parametric mixture cure model.
Materials And Methods: In this historical cohort study; the data was collected from 4564 patients with TB who referred to the Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases Research Center of Dr.
Despite the rising percentage of women accessing the medical profession over the last few decades, surgical specialties are still largely male-dominated; in particular, a remarkable gender disparity is evident in neurosurgery, where only 19% of practitioners are females. Although women may be reluctant to choose a challenging specialty like neurosurgery due to concerns around how to balance family and career, it must be admitted that prejudices against female neurosurgeons have been deeply rooted for long, prompting many to give up and switch track to less demanding subspecialties. Among those who have persisted, many, if not most, have experienced difficulties in career progression and received unequal treatment in comparison with their male counterparts.

The question of how a permanent iatrogenic upper limb palsy would be managed remains unclear. Recent developments of nerve transfer have led to a considerable interest in its applications.

Qualitative methods to determine the stiffness of the corpse may have some limitations. Methods that provide quantitative values may be useful.

In the light of recent developments in nerve transfer, reconstruction of sole sensation can be achieved even in sciatic nerve injuries.

Many radiation-induced alterations in irradiated samples are post-radiation time-dependent. This study aims to evaluate the post-irradiation effects of the gamma ray on human Jurkat cells.

Aim: This study was aimed at gene assessment of Crohn's disease (CD) through protein-protein interaction (PPI) network analysis to find crucial genes.
Background: CD is a major subtype of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), which affects gastrointestinal tract. PPI network analysis is a suitable tool to clarify a critical gene as a drug target or diagnostic biomarker for these types of diseases.
Femoral nerve palsy occurs after trauma, surgical procedures and tumors and leads to loss of quadriceps functions, disability and decreased quality of life. The aim of this report was to describe a successful restoration of knee extension by transferring the anterior branch of the obturator nerve to selective branches of the femoral nerve at the thigh level. We describe a 27-year-old male who had quadriceps femoris muscle paralysis after surgical evacuation for retroperitoneal hematoma five months ago.

In this regard, numerous studies have been conducted regarding applying nanomaterials such as zinc oxide, clay, silver, carbon nanotube, titanium dioxide, and copper, and copper oxide in food packaging which were summarized in the current study. The employing of nano food packaging increases the physicochemical quality of food (color, flavor, moisture content, weight, bioavailability, and texture) and reduces the microbial load by cell-membrane function, Trojan-horse, and reactive oxygen mechanisms while they improve the barrier/mechanical properties of food packaging.

Several surgical techniques have been used for treatment of foot drop, however, they have had sub-optimal outcomes. Soleus branch of tibial nerve is a good donor for nerve transfer for treatment of foot drop.

The present study set out to compare the restoration of elbow flexion by using these two donor nerves.
Methods: Between 2010 and 2013, 24 adult patients with upper-middle BPI and 15 patients with total BPI undergoing elbow flexion restoration surgery were studied.

Objective: Injuries of the upper trunk of the brachial plexus may trigger motor and sensory deficits. There exists a growing body of literature with respect to the reconstruction of motor deficits in upper trunk brachial plexus injuries by using nerve transfers; albeit to date, very few old reports have focused on the reconstruction of sensory loss resulting from upper trunk injuries. In this case series, we review six cases (five males and one female) with upper trunk brachial plexus injuries undergoing sensory nerve transfers.
