Effects of benign parotid tumors on unstimulated saliva secretion from the parotid gland.

Objective: Salivary tumors can manifest as abnormalities of the gland itself and/or changes in salivary flow. However, effects of salivary tumors on saliva secretion have not been studied in much detail. The aim of the present study was to evaluate effects of benign parotid tumors on unstimulated saliva secretion from the affected gland.

Introduction: Otitis media with effusion is the most frequent cause of conductive hearing impairement (HL) at pediatric age. This entity can be asymptomatic for an important period of time (silent OME). There is a surgical and a nonsurgical approach for OME.

[Removing illness changes related with ORL in laser-clinic in 2005].

Introduction: For 13 years now we use neodine - laser in our clinic. In 2005 we treated 463 patients using this laser with local anesthesia. There are 47 cases presented in article (28 women and 19 men) from who pieces of nasal cavity, oral cavity or throat were taken or illness changes have been curing.

[Olfactory neuroblastoma (esthesioneuroblastoma): etiopatogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment].

Introduction: Esthesioneuroblastoma is a malignant tumour arising from the olfactory epithelium located in the upper part of the nasal cavities. Recent clinical and preclinical studies shed more light on etiopathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of this rare malignancy.

Unlabelled: The syndrome of dyskinetic cilia is the cause of chronic inflammatory processes of upper and lower airways. The research studies concerning cilia's structure were held during 50s. About 20 types of cilia's defects were characterized by now, classified as inborn defects.

[Reduction of overgrown lymphatic system among children as a method of restoration of upper airways].

It was concluded, that airway stenosis in the pharyngeal area is the most frequent cause of sleep apnea syndrome among children. The basis of research were children treated at The Clinic from 1999-2002 and it was stressed that the best way to cure is surgical therapy. Partial tonsillectomy or adenoidectomy is a stable method of dilatation of the airway.
