This study evaluated the impact of community-based health interventions on controlling schistosomiasis among schoolchildren, aiming to inform future policies and strategies.
Conducted at Al-Alaqa male primary school, the research involved 237 students, with 132 diagnosed with schistosomiasis, who received treatment and health education while data were collected and analyzed to measure effectiveness.
Results indicated a significant decrease in infection rates from 55.7% to 3.8% post-intervention, highlighting the importance of combining treatment and health education for long-term disease control.
