We focused on the effects of LAH on mitochondrial dynamics, mTOR signaling, autophagy, and apoptosis in colorectal cancer (CRC) cells to explore its anticancer potential.
Methods: CRC cells were treated with LAH, and its effects on mitochondrial respiration and glycolysis were measured using Seahorse XF technology.
The mechanisms underlying the sustained activation of the PI3K/AKT and Wnt/β-catenin pathways mediated by HOTAIR in cervical cancer (CC) have not been extensively described. To address this knowledge gap in the literature, we explored the interactions between these pathways by driving HOTAIR expression levels in HeLa cells. Our findings reveal that HOTAIR is a key regulator in sustaining the activation of both signaling pathways.

Entamoeba histolytica trophozoites respond to the presence of IL-8, moving by chemotaxis towards the source of the chemokine. IL-8 binds to the trophozoite membrane and triggers a response that activates signaling pathways that in turn regulate actin/myosin cytoskeleton organisation to initiate migration towards the chemokine, suggesting the presence of a receptor for IL-8 in the parasite.
