Residual errors are used as a goodness-of-fit metric of the musculoskeletal model to the experimental data in multibody kinematic optimisation (MKO) analyses. Despite many studies reporting residual errors as a criterion for evaluating their proposed algorithm or model, the validity of residual errors as a performance metric has been questioned, with studies indicating a non-causal relationship between residual errors and computed joint angles. Additionally, the impact of different parameters of an MKO pipeline on residual errors has not been analysed.

Background: Radiopharmaceutical therapy (RPT) uses radionuclides that decay via one of three therapeutically relevant decay modes (alpha, beta, and internal conversion (IC) / Auger electron (AE) emission) to deliver short range, highly damaging radiation inside of diseased cells, maintaining localized dose distribution and sparing healthy cells. Recently, Mn-doped semiconductor nanocrystals (NCs) with high brightness, long lifetimes, and low-energy excitation are emerging for time-resolved luminescence biosensing/imaging. Following our previous work on Mn-doped NCs, in this work we developed poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydride) (PSMA)-encapsulated Mn-doped AgZnInS/ZnS NCs as signal transducers for immunoassay of capsular polysaccharide (CPS), a surface antigen and also a biomarker of Burkholderia pseudomallei which causes a fatal disease called melioidosis. To enhance the assay sensitivity, a surface treatment for PSMA-encapsulated NCs (NC-probes) was performed to promote the presence of carboxyl groups that help conjugate more anti-CPS antibodies to the surface of NC-probes and thus enhance bioassay signals.

Sc and Sc are both positron-emitting radioisotopes of scandium with suitable half-lives and favorable positron energies for clinical positron emission tomography (PET) imaging. Irradiation of isotopically enriched calcium targets has higher cross sections compared to titanium targets and higher radionuclidic purity and cross sections than natural calcium targets for reaction routes possible on small cyclotrons capable of accelerating protons and deuterons. A copper-mediated radiobromination of (hetero)aryl boronic pinacol esters is described. Cyclotron-produced [Br]bromide was isolated using an anion exchange cartridge, wherein the pre-equilibration and elution solutions played a critical role in downstream deboro-bromination. We report a previously unobserved superconducting state of the photosynthesized carbonaceous sulfur hydride (C-S-H) system with a maximum of 191(1) K below 100 GPa. The properties of C-S-H are dependent on carbon content, and X-ray diffraction and simulations reveal the system remains molecular-like up to 100 GPa.

The therapeutic potential of the Meitner-Auger- and conversion-electron emitting radionuclide Sb remains unexplored because of the difficulty of incorporating it into biologically targeted compounds. To address this challenge, we report the development of Sb production from electroplated tin cyclotron targets and its complexation by a novel trithiol chelate. The chelation reaction occurs in harsh solvent conditions even in the presence of large quantities of tin, which are necessary for production on small, low energy (16 MeV) cyclotrons.
