The accumulation of plastic waste in the environment has prompted the development of new chemical recycling technologies. A recently reported approach employed homogeneous organometallic catalysts for tandem dehydrogenation and olefin cross metathesis to depolymerize polyethylene (PE) feedstocks to a mixture of alkane products. Here, we build on that prior work by developing a fully heterogeneous catalyst system using a physical mixture of SnPt/γ-AlO and ReO/γ-AlO.

Structure elucidation of the isolated compounds were done based on the interpretation of the mass spectrometry (MS) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) data. New dihydrophenanthrene derivative () was tested for its effect on zebrafish larval behaviour.

Background: With 50% of Australians having chronic disease, health consumer views are an important barometer of the 'health' of the healthcare system for system improvement and sustainability.

Aims: To describe the views of Australian health consumers with and without chronic conditions when accessing healthcare.

Methods: A survey of a representative sample of 1024 Australians aged over 18 years, distributed electronically and incorporating standardised questions and questions co-designed with consumers.

COVID-19 as 'Game Changer' for the Physical Activity and Mental Well-Being of Augmented Reality Game Players During the Pandemic: Mixed Methods Survey Study.

Background: Location-based augmented reality (AR) games, such as Pokémon GO and Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, have been shown to have a beneficial impact on the physical activity, social connectedness, and mental health of their players. In March 2020, global social distancing measures related to the COVID-19 pandemic prompted the AR games developer Niantic Inc to implement several changes to ensure continued player engagement with Pokémon GO and Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. We sought to examine how the physical and mental well-being of players of these games were affected during the unprecedented COVID-19 restriction period as well as how their video game engagement was affected.

An empirical application of "broken windows" and related theories in healthcare: examining disorder, patient safety, staff outcomes, and collective efficacy in hospitals.

Background: Broken windows theory (BWT) proposes that visible signs of crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour - however minor - lead to further levels of crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour. While we acknowledge divisive and controversial policy developments that were based on BWT, theories of neighbourhood disorder have recently been proposed to have utility in healthcare, emphasising the potential negative effects of disorder on staff and patients, as well as the potential role of collective efficacy in mediating its effects. The aim of this study was to empirically examine the relationship between disorder, collective efficacy and outcome measures in hospital settings.

Background: While individual countries have gained considerable knowledge and experience in coronavirus disease of 2019 (COVID-19) management, an international, comparative perspective is lacking, particularly regarding the measures taken by different countries to tackle the pandemic. This paper elicits the views of health system staff, tapping into their personal expertise on how the pandemic was initially handled.

The Electronic Health Record Objective Structured Clinical Examination Station: Assessing Student Competency in Patient Notes and Patient Interaction.

Introduction: The ability to utilize the electronic health record (EHR) without compromising the doctor-patient relationship (DPR) is an essential skill of all physicians and trainees, yet little time is spent on educating or assessing learners on needed techniques. To address this gap, we developed a conventional OSCE station coupled with a simulated patient chart within the Epic program in order to assess our students' skills utilizing the EHR during a patient encounter.

Methods: Of third-year medical students, 119 were given full access to the patient's simulated chart 24 hours in advance of their OSCE to review clinical data.

A randomized controlled trial comparing controlled reoxygenation and standard cardiopulmonary bypass in paediatric cardiac surgery.

Objectives: Controlled reoxygenation on starting cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) rather than hyperoxic CPB may confer clinical advantages during surgery for congenital cyanotic heart disease.

Methods: A single-centre, randomized controlled trial was carried out to compare the effectiveness of controlled reoxygenation (normoxia) versus hyperoxic CPB in children with congenital cyanotic heart disease undergoing open-heart surgery (Oxic-2). Recently, it has been demonstrated that the histone methlytransferase, EZH2 is deregulated in mouse and human high-grade prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia (HG-PIN). Using preclinical mouse and human models of prostate cancer, we demonstrate that genetic and chemical disruption of EZH2 expression and catalytic activity reversed the HG-PIN phenotype.

Herpes in the Heart: A Case of Widely Disseminated Intrauterine Herpes Simplex Virus Infection Involving Neonatal Myocardium in a 23-Week Gestationally Aged Neonate.

We report a rare case of disseminated herpes simplex virus (HSV) infection in an extremely preterm neonate. Herpes Simplex Virus-2 (HSV-2) is the leading cause of genital ulcer disease in adults and is the most common cause of neonatal herpes, a rare infection associated with long-term neurologic impairment and high mortality. HSV-2 can be transmitted perinatally via direct mucosal or skin contact.

Objective: Organisational change in hospitals is a frequent, seemingly inevitable occurrence. A critical precursor to successful organisational change is change readiness.
