Aim: To elucidate relationship between hereditary and environmental factors in development of target organ damage in hypertension.
Material And Methods: The state of myocardium, central nervous system, blood vessels (including funduscopic examination) was assessed in 64 pairs of mono- and dizygous hypertensive twins (mean age 57.2+/-3.

In computer controlled experiments it was shown that the averaged cortical responses to direct electrical stimulation, recorded in rabbit's intact cortex or in a neuronally isolated cortical slab, depend on the level of EEG spatial synchronization in the prestimulation period. Latencies of the evoked potentials in both structures were smaller, and their amplitudes -- higher, if stimulation coincided with periods of the maximal synchronization of the background biopotentials, as compared to the same parameters of responses, obtained during the minimal synchronization of potentials. It is assumed that synchronization of the cortical potentials may be provided to a certain degree by processes of intracortical nature and that the increase in the cortical synchronization proper is accompanied by an improvement of the conditions in which the excitation is conducted over the cortex.

To test the ability of the neocortex to generate rhythmic potential oscillations, the composition of summary electrical activity of neuronally isolated necortex strip in the background and following rhythmic electrical stimulation of the strip was studied by means of computer in chronic experiments on rabbits. In the strip background activity oscillations appear in delta-, theta- and alpha-ranges which in some cases represent regular-rhythmic processes. Along with endogene activity rythmic theta-activity may be recorded which penetrates passively from the hippocampus (when it generates a regular high-amplitude theta-rhythm).

After 2 days of complete fasting the vitamin B12 concentration was declining, rising again by the 7th day. Its highest concentration was registered in the kidneys, both in normalcy and in complete fasting.

Complete fasting did not alter the order in which the summary amount of the labelled compound accumulated in different organs. After 2 days of complete fasting in animals sacrificed 3 and 24 hours following introduction of the tagged vitamin the incorporation of the atter in the organs drastically decreased by comparison with controls.
