Mouse models of radiation-induced pulmonary fibrosis (RIPF) are commonly produced to find novel treatments for the condition. However, current models are not always assesed in a clinically-relevant manner. Clinics diagnose and track RIPF through CT scanning rather than observing time-to-death.

Indian (Marathi) version of the Shoulder Pain and Disability Index (SPADI): Translation and validation in patients with adhesive capsulitis.

Background: The Shoulder Pain and Disability Index (SPADI) is the most commonly used self-administered questionnaire which is a valid and reliable instrument to assess the proportion of pain and disability in shoulder disorders. There is no evidence of SPADI questionnaire being translated into regional Indian language (Marathi).

Objective: This study aims to translate and culturally adapt and validate the Marathi version of the SPADI questionnaire.

Hence, this study examined longitudinal associations between child eating and drinking engagement at 27 months of age and child eating in the absence of hunger (EAH) at 33 months of age (N = 91 children; 57.1% boys).

Families discuss food and eating in many ways that may shape child eating habits. Researchers studying how families talk about food have examined this process during meals. Little work has examined parent-child food-related interactions outside of mealtime.

Setting: Participants were recruited from the ICU of a single children's hospital located in the western United States.

High prevalence of elevated lead levels in pediatric dialysis patients.

Background: After parents raised concerns about potential lead (Pb) contamination of calcium carbonate for treatment of hyperphosphatemia in chronic kidney disease (CKD), we measured blood Pb using high-resolution sector field inductively coupled mass spectrometry in a quality-assurance investigation of ten pediatric dialysis patients (nine on hemodialysis) and six patients before dialysis.

Methods: We assessed the kidney function as cystatin C estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), blood Pb levels, calcium carbonate dose, and standard laboratory parameters, as well as Pb levels in the dialysis feed water.

Results: Mean blood Pb concentration in the 16 pediatric CKD patients was 21.

Objective: The objective of this study was to describe bleeding after use of an emergency contraceptive pill (ECP) regimen consisting of 1.5 mg of levonorgestrel in a single dose.

Methods: We asked 120 women who had been treated with the regimen to keep daily bleeding diaries for 9 weeks.
