Objective: A diabetes prevention program is being proposed in the rural agricultural town of San Juan, Batangas, Philippines. This study aims to determine the prevailing level of food intake, physical activity, and health beliefs prior to any intervention.
Methodology: Adults were recruited via random sampling with proportional allocation.
Background: The linkage of records across administrative databases has become a powerful tool to increase information available to undertake research and analytics in a privacy protective manner.
Objective: The objective of this paper was to describe the data integration strategy used to link the Ontario Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS)-Social Assistance (SA) database with administrative health care data.
Methods: Deterministic and probabilistic linkage methods were used to link the MCCSS-SA database (2003-2016) to the Registered Persons Database, a population registry containing data on all individuals issued a health card number in Ontario, Canada.
Unlabelled: Introduction The purpose of this study is to assess the effectiveness of diabetes self-management education (DSME) in a rural agricultural town.
Methods: In this prospective, education-intervention trial, 85 adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus from villages randomly assigned to DSME and 70 from villages assigned to standard care participated. The DSME group underwent a curriculum delivered by peer educators; those in the standard group received usual advice.

Context: The devolution of health services from the Department of Health to the Local Government Unit in the Philippines in 1992 led to the deterioration of the management of local health services. The UP College of Medicine (UPCM) has forged a partnership with a Local Government Unit of a rural municipality to implement a community based health program geared towards the development of local health systems.
Objective: Program objectives were: (1) to provide learning opportunities for UPCM faculty, medical residents and students in community medicine; and (2) to assist communities develop their health systems.
