Sweet's syndrome (SS) is a neutrophilic dermatosis characterised by the acute onset of erythematous papules or plaques and a constellation of symptoms including fever, leucocytosis, and histopathology demonstrating nodular, pustular, or diffuse infiltrate of neutrophils with marked papillary oedema. SS can be a manifestation of inflammatory bowel disease and often coincides with periods of disease flares. Only a few cases of SS associated with ulcerative colitis are reported in the literature, and no cases have involved pulmonary manifestations in the paediatric population.

Reactive Granulomatous Dermatitis in a Child with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Reactive granulomatous dermatitis (RGD) is an umbrella term to describe a reaction pattern characterized by skin-colored to erythematous papules, plaques, and nodules although other morphologies have been described. RGD has rarely been reported in children, and in this report, we present the case of a 3-year-old girl with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) who presented with firm, tender nodules, and ulcerated plaques on her extremities. Histopathologic examination showed foci of dense granulomatous inflammatory infiltrates composed of histiocytes, neutrophils, and multinucleate giant cells.

Despite its potential use as an educational tool, TikTok can be unreliable and misleading as a medical information source.

What We Have Learned-Milestones in Pediatric Contact Dermatitis.

Purpose Of Review: This review highlights recent developments in the field of pediatric allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) and patch testing. We will review updates on the pathophysiology of contact dermatitis, discuss new contact allergens, explore the impact of dupilumab on patch testing, and provide pearls for the diagnosis and management of ACD in children.

Recent Findings: ACD is not a single immunologic phenomenon but rather has contributions from multiple inflammatory pathways.

A Case of severe mosquito bite allergy complicated by fatal hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis.

Severe mosquito bite allergy (SMBA) is characterized by necrotic skin lesions and systemic symptoms. Chronic active Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection, when superimposed with SMBA, is a key driver for catastrophic clinical consequences, such as uncontrolled lymphoproliferation. This interplay is of clinical significance due to its association with hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) and/or EBV-driven malignancies.

Twenty-year-old woman presenting with typical Kawasaki disease.

We describe adult-onset Kawasaki disease (KD) and review clinical manifestations and treatment guidelines. Our patient is a 20-year-old female who initially presented to an outside hospital for fever, cervical lymphadenopathy, malaise, exudative tonsillitis, and skin eruption. She received antibiotics for suspected exudative pharyngitis, but experienced continued fevers and presented to the UCLA emergency room one week later.

Bullous acral eruption related to secukinumab.

Skin reactions related to secukinumab are uncommon. Although the initial phase 3 studies of this medication reported infection and urticaria as adverse cutaneous events, other cases of unique adverse events have since been reported. We are presenting a patient who developed an exuberant hand and foot reaction after starting secukinumab.
