Sarcopenia has been shown to cause poorer outcomes in surgical oncology. With the advancement of artificial intelligence technology, body composition analysis can be obtained with ease. Given the lead time between cancer diagnosis and surgery, selected patients at risk of complications secondary to sarcopenia may be amenable to prehabilitation.
