Organoids are self-assembled 3D cellular structures that resemble organs structurally and functionally, providing platforms for molecular and therapeutic studies. Generation of organoids from human cells often requires long and costly procedures with arguably low efficiency. Prediction and selection of cellular aggregates that result in healthy and functional organoids can be achieved by using artificial intelligence-based tools.

The anterior segment of the eye accounts for nearly half of all visual impairment that can lead to blindness. Therefore, there is a growing demand for ocular research and regenerative medicine that specifically targets the anterior segment to improve vision quality.

Half maximal inhibitory concentrations (IC) were assessed on THP-1, Saos-2, and CRL-2014 cells using MTT assay. THP-1 cells were differentiated into macrophages with phorbol12-myristate13-acetate and activated with lipopolysaccharide.

The newly synthesized compounds were screened for their in vitro anticancer activity against the cell lines CRL5807 (human bronchioalveolar carcinoma), CRL5826 (human squamous cell carcinoma), MDA-MB231 (human breast cancer cells), HTB177 (human lung cancer), PC-3 (human prostate adenocarcinoma), PANC-1 (human pancreatic cancer cells), used as cancer cells, and CCD34Lu (normal human lung fibroblasts), used as a healthy cell line. Cytotoxicity effects of the samples were determined by the MTT (3-(4,5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl)-2,5-diphenyl-2H-tetrazolium bromide) assay.
