Electrodiagnostic Testing Characteristics of Diabetic People with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

 The present study aimed to correlate electroneuromyography (ENMG) findings in diabetic and nondiabetic subjects with carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS).  In total, 154 patients were evaluated in a hand surgery outpatient clinic. All ENMG tests were bilaterally performed by a single neurologist.

Is there an association between electroneuromyography and ultrasound in the diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome?

 To verify whether there is an association between the results of the severity in electroneuromyography and the positivity in ultrasound in the diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome.  Sixty-eight patients were included in the study, 61 women and 7 men, with a mean age of 54.4 years.

Prevalence of Anxiety and Depression Symptoms in People with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

 To demonstrate the prevalence of depression and anxiety symptoms in patients with carpal tunnel syndrome treated at a hand surgery outpatient clinic and to describe the clinical and epidemiological characteristics of this population.  People diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome at the initial visit were evaluated over a 6-month period for data collection. Clinical and epidemiological characteristics were noted, and patients diagnosed with anxiety and/or depression were evaluated.

EFFECT OF LOW-LEVEL LASER (GAAS, 904HM) FOR BONE REPAIR ON FRACTURES IN RATS.

Objective: To analyze the effects of low-level laser therapy (GaAs, 904 nm) for bone repair on tibial fractures in rats.

Methods: Forty rats were divided into four groups of 10 animals: control group without fracture (CG); fracture group without treatment (EG II); fracture group treated with laser at 10 J/cm(2) (EG III); and fracture group treated with laser at 15 J/cm2 (EG IV). The fracture was produced surgically and the treatment lasted 45 days, done on alternate days.
