Endovascular Intervention of a Mycotic Pseudoaneurysm of Accessory Left Hepatic Artery Arising from the Left Gastric Artery Presenting Secondary to Clostridium difficile Colitis: A Case Report.

Hepatic artery aneurysms have an estimated incidence of approximately 0.002%, of which one half are pseudoaneurysms (PsAs). These typically occur following trauma or liver transplant and are often asymptomatic.

Endovenous Laser Ablation of Perforating Veins: Feasibility, Safety, and Occlusion Rate Using a 1,470-nm Laser and Bare-Tip Fiber.

Purpose: To describe technical feasibility and safety of perforating vein ablation with the use of a 1,470-nm laser and bare-tip fiber in the management of chronic venous insufficiency (CVI).

Materials And Methods: A total of 171 perforating veins were ablated in 101 limbs of 87 patients (mean age, 54.4 y; 79% female).

A comprehensive approach to CT radiation dose reduction: one institution's experience.

Objective: The purpose of this article is to review the process of creating and implementing a comprehensive plan to reduce diagnostic radiation exposure at our institution.

Conclusion: This process, which was initiated by forming a radiation dose reduction committee, addressed several different issues to improve patient safety. These include avoidance of unnecessary CT examinations, adjusting individual scanning parameters, revising protocols, use of shielding and dose monitoring, and implementing computer-based dose modulation software as well as educating referring physicians and radiologic technologists.
