Association Between 25-Hydroxyvitamin D Level and Inflammatory and Nutritional Factors in Hemodialysis and Peritoneal dialysis Patients in Qom, Iran.

Introduction: This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of vitamin D inadequacy in patients receiving maintenance hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis (PD) and its association with inflammatory and nutritional factors.

Materials And Methods: A total of 176 hemodialysis and 32 PD patients participated in the study. Serum levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D, albumin, parathyroid hormone, calcium, phosphorus, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (HSCRP), and neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) were measured.

Association between serum magnesium and risk factors of cardiovascular disease in hemodialysis patients.

Introduction: There are associations between serum magnesium level and some risk factors of cardiovascular disease and atherosclerosis, such as lipid profile, serum albumin, C-reactive protein, serum phosphorus, parathyroid hormone, and diabetes mellitus in hemodialysis patients. The aim of this study was to examine these associations.

Materials And Methods: This study was conducted on 103 patients with end-stage renal disease on maintenance hemodialysis.

Antibody response to influenza immunization in kidney transplant recipients receiving either azathioprine or mycophenolate: a controlled trial.

Aims: We aimed to assess humoral immune response to the influenza vaccine in adult kidney transplant recipients (KTRs) subjected to two immunosuppressive regimens containing either mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) or azathioprine (Aza).

Methods: 40 eligible KTRs (24 treated with Aza [KTRs-Aza] and 16 treated with MMF [KTRs-MMF]) and 40 matched healthy controls (HCs) were administered the trivalent 2006-2007 anti-influenza vaccine. Antibody (Ab) titers were measured before (pre-vacc) and 1 month after (post-vacc) vaccination.
