Purpose: Minimal incision procedures have been recommended for pediatric pilonidal sinus disease, based on small studies with short follow-up. We aimed to describe medium-term outcomes of trephination in a large cohort.
Methods: Retrospective chart review and additional concluding telephone interviews for all children who underwent primary trephination in our institution over 5.
: Virtual reality (VR) technology has been reported as effective in mitigating fear, anxiety, and pain in children undergoing various medical procedures. Our aim was to test the effectiveness of non-sponge-coated mobile phone-operated VR goggles approved by infectious diseases (ID) control in pediatric surgical patients. A prospective randomized trial in which pre-procedural and post-procedural heart rate, fear, and anxiety, and post-procedural pain were measured in pediatric surgical patients assigned to receive standard care versus standard care and VR goggles.
