Outcomes for adult patients with a high-grade glioma continue to be dismal and new treatment paradigms are urgently needed. Dense systems of magnetic nanoparticles may exhibit dipolar collective behavior. However, two fundamental questions remain unsolved: i) whether the transition temperature may be affected by the particle anisotropy or it is essentially determined by the intensity of the interparticle dipolar interactions, and ii) what is the minimum ratio of dipole-dipole interaction (E ) to nanoparticle anisotropy (K V, anisotropy⋅volume) energies necessary to crossover from individual to collective behavior. Several fungicides, such as copper and organic products (synthetic or natural), are currently being used in vineyards to control downy mildew (Plasmopara viticola) resulting in soil, surface water, and groundwater pollution. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of using cover crops as an agricultural practice in vineyards to protect soil and groundwater pollution. For that purpose, we performed different soil column studies to quantify soil leaching of selected fungicides (copper, dimethomorph, oxathiapiprolin, zoxamide, acibenzolar-s-methyl, and laminarin) following a rainfall event after a conventional fungicide vineyard application.

The binding of strigolactones to their receptor, the α/β hydrolase DWARF14 (D14), leads to the modulation of transcriptional activity by destabilization of specific transcriptional corepressors via proteasomal degradation. To identify the free-living amoeba (FLA) and amoeba-resistant bacteria (ARB) accumulated in zebra mussels and in the water in which they are found, mussels were collected at two locations in the Ebro river basin (North East Spain). FLAs and bacteria were isolated from mussel extracts and from natural water. PCR techniques were used to identify the FLAs and endosymbiont bacteria (Legionella, Mycobacterium, Pseudomonas and cyanobacteria), and to detect Giardia and Cryptosporidium.
