Estimated Costs Associated with Surgical Site Infections in Patients Undergoing Cholecystectomy.

Among healthcare-associated infections, surgical site infections (SSIs) are the most frequent in Spain. The aim of this work was to estimate the costs of SSIs in patients who underwent a cholecystectomy at the Hospital General Universitario de Alicante (Spain) between 2012-2017. This was a prospective observational cohort study.
