Objective: To increase the knowledge of rhinotillexomania, or compulsive nose picking, as a manifestation of psychiatric disease through the presentation of a case series and a review of the literature.
Material: We present three clinical cases with self-destructive nasal injuries as a symptom of different psychiatric diseases.
Results: One patient presented amputation of the middle turbinate as a manifestation of an obsessive-compulsive disorder of bipolar disease.

Unlabelled: Along the medical practice of an Otologist he/she will face middle cranial fossa (MCF) bone defects. The purpose of this study is to contribute to the understanding of this possible life threatening condition, and to share and discuss our management approach. A literature review is also presented.

Oculopharyngeal muscular dystrophy is an infrequent, not widely known entity. Of genetic origin, it usually shows up in the 5th or 6th decade of life. Most cases are referred directly to the gastroenterologist by their general practitioner and not to the otolaryngologist, so it is essential to be aware of this disease to suspect it.

The objective of this investigation was to study the role of comorbidity as a prognostic factor in a large, homogeneous population affected by locally advanced pharyngeal-laryngeal cancer, under a combined protocol treatment. The a priori hypothesis is that comorbidity strongly conditions overall survival and specific overall survival in these patients and can aid in the selection and individualization of treatments.

A detailed medical history and a thorough physical check-up with the aid of analyses and imaging pictures properly selected, provide the doctor with the needle information in order to establish a correct diagnosis (table 1). Some respiratory troubles on childhood keep, comparatively with the same adult's pathology, certain peculiarities worth to know. This is the case of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, which can suffer both children and adults, but with important etiopathogenical differences: clinical, and therapeutical between the two ages groups, which we must have in mind. Report of differential considerations between the 2 age-groups that we consider more relevants in this syndrome, that every time is more and more seen in clinical practice.
