Despite the existence of effective therapy options for patients with localized colorectal cancer, advanced-stage patients have limited therapies. Genomic profiling is a promising tool for guiding treatment selection as well as patient monitoring. Here, we describe a novel gene rearrangement () detected in a patient with advanced colorectal cancer that could be a therapeutic target.

During the COVID-19 pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, patients with BC still require timely treatment and follow-up; however, hospitals are overwhelmed with infected patients and, if exposed, patients with BC are at higher risk for infection and serious complications if infected. Thus, health care providers need to evaluate each BC treatment and in-hospital visit to minimize pandemic-associated risks while maintaining adequate treatment efficacy.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the antitumor activity and toxicity of fixed sequences of capecitabine/oxaliplatin followed by capecitabine/irinotecan in patients with previously untreated metastatic colorectal cancer.
Patients And Methods: Adult patients with histologically confirmed, previously untreated, nonresectable, locally advanced or metastatic colorectal adenocarcinoma were enrolled in the study. Patients were treated as follows: capecitabine (1000 mg/m2 orally twice daily) on days 1-14 and oxaliplatin (130 mg/m2 2-hour intravenous infusion) on day 1, followed by capecitabine (1000 mg/m2 twice daily) on days 1-14 and irinotecan (240 mg/m2 1.
Aims And Background: Although there is no established tumor marker of proven value for patients with melanoma, high serum levels of S-100B protein have been found in patients with melanoma and distant metastases. This study was performed to assess the prognostic value of this marker.
Methods And Study Design: Serum S-100B protein was measured by means of the LIA-mat System 300 (Sangtec S-100B LIA, AB Sangtec Medical, Bromma, Sweden) in 85 patients with melanoma.
