Small businesses are important for society, and the wellbeing of managers affects their employees and business success.
This study talked to 20 managers from 12 small companies to find out what helps or hurts their wellbeing.
The results showed that being in a small business has both challenges, like fewer resources, and benefits, like strong relationships with employees and customers, which can impact how managers feel.
Managers' wellbeing affects how they lead their teams, influencing both their own performance and the work atmosphere in small businesses.
When managers feel good, they tend to be more positive and effective leaders; when they feel unwell, their leadership can become less helpful.
Despite some negative effects from unwell managers, other factors in the workplace can help protect against big problems, showing that managers' moods and behaviors can change over time.
