Pediatric thyroid nodules (TNs) present a higher malignancy rate compared to adults. We sought to diagnose the frequency and characteristics of TNs in children and adolescents with subclinical hypothyroidism (SH) and their outcomes after levothyroxine (LT4) therapy. Background: A series of repeated questionnaire surveys among 8- to 9-year-old school children in the city of Patras, Greece, demonstrated a continuous rise in the prevalence of wheeze/asthma from 1978 to 2003, with a plateau between 2003 and 2008. We further investigated wheeze/asthma trends within the same environment over the last decade.

Methods: Two follow-up surveys were conducted in 2013 (N = 2554) and 2018 (N = 2648).

Aim: Food protein-induced enterocolitis syndrome (FPIES) is a non-immunoglobulin E (IgE)-mediated food allergy, which is confined to the gastrointestinal tract and occurs most frequently in the first year of life. Our aim was to examine the clinical features, causative agents and outcomes of Greek children with FPIES.

Methods: This was a five-year (2013-2017) retrospective study, based on chart reviews of 78 children with FPIES from six Greek paediatric allergy centres.

We present a rare case of galactosemia identified by a positive screening test. A 20-day-old female infant was admitted with jaundice and bloody stained diarrhea. There was no history of fever, convulsions, abdominal distention, or bleeding from other sites.
