Aims: Our study aimed to explore the temporal trajectory of eight circulating biomarkers, measured serially over 12 months, in a prospective observational cohort of patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and to investigate the association between these biomarkers and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) during follow-up assessments.
Methods And Results: We enrolled 155 patients admitted for a first AMI requiring percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Baseline characteristics, laboratory test results, and cardiac ultrasound examinations were collected at pre-PCI (H0), immediately post-PCI (H24), at discharge (D3), and at 6 months (M6) and 12 months (M12) post-PCI.
Background: Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a life-threatening. Differentiation pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) from pulmonary venous hypertension (PVH) is important due to distinct treatment protocols. Invasive right heart catheterization (RHC) remains the reference standard but noninvasive alternatives are needed.

The present study investigates the potential of a red wine polyphenol oral extract, Provinols™, to reduce neointimal hyperplasia following angioplasty in a hypercholesterolemic rabbit model. New Zealand white rabbits were fed 1% cholesterol-enriched chow for a period of eight weeks prior to the induction of iliac balloon injury and subsequent stent placement.

The primary objective of this paper is to accurately estimate and reconstruct missing pixel values to restore complete visual information. This paper introduces a novel model called the Enhanced Connected Pixel Identity GAN with Neutrosophic (ECP-IGANN), which is designed to address two fundamental issues inherent in existing GAN architectures for missing pixel generation: (1) mode collapse, which leads to a lack of diversity in generated pixels, and (2) the preservation of pixel integrity within the reconstructed images.

We assessed whether flecainide is effective to prevent AA during the first 3 months after PFO closure, and whether 6 months of treatment with flecainide is more effective than 3 months to prevent AA after PFO closure.
Methods: AFLOAT (Assessment of Flecainide to Lower the Patent Foramen Ovale Closure Risk of Atrial Fibrillation or Tachycardia Trial) is a prospective, multicentre, randomized, open-label, superiority trial with a blind evaluation of all the end points (PROBE [Prospective Randomized Open, Blinded End Point] design).
Pulmonary hypertension (PH) remains a challenging condition to diagnose, classify and treat. Current approaches to the assessment of PH include echocardiography, ventilation/perfusion scintigraphy, cross-sectional imaging using computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging, and right heart catheterisation. However, these approaches only provide an indirect readout of the primary pathology of the disease: abnormal vascular remodelling in the pulmonary circulation.

Using French health insurance databases, we examined the ten-year evolution in HF medication use, focusing on SGLT-2 inhibitors and sacubitril/valsartan, and incidence of HF hospitalizations during the same period. We conducted a repeated cross-sectional study using medical-administrative data from French health insurance databases between 2014 and 2023.

Purpose: The purpose of this randomized clinical trial was to evaluate the clinical performance of additively manufactured and milled PEEK inlays compared with composite resin inlays according to modified United State Public Health Service (USPHS) criteria over a 1-year follow- up.
Material And Methods: Participants were allocated into 3 distinct categories based on the materials and techniques used: R1 denoting teeth restored with 3 dimensionally (3D) printed PEEK inlays (N=16), R2 representing teeth restored with milled PEEK inlays (N=16), and R3 indicating the comparator group comprising teeth restored with milled composite resin inlays (N=16).
Covid-19 disease is implicated in increased mortality among immunocompromised patients. The JAK inhibitor, baricitinib (bar), or the IL-6 inhibitor, tocilizumab (toc), demonstrated a survival benefit in patients with severe disease. However, evidence supporting their use in immunocompromised patients with severe Covid-19 is scarce.

Facing these new rules, we tested if a new artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm: The Nox BodySleep™ (NBS) developed without airflow signals for the analysis of sleep might assess pertinently sleep in patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) and chronic insomnia (CI) as a control group, compared to polysomnography (PSG) manual scoring.
Patients-methods: NBS is a recurrent neural network model that estimates Wake, NREM, and REM states, given features extracted from activity and respiratory inductance plethysmography (RIP) belt signals (Nox A1 PSG).
There is an urgent need to provide immediate and effective options for the treatment of prostate cancer (PCa) to prevent progression to lethal castration-resistant PCa (CRPC). The mevalonate (MVA) pathway is dysregulated in PCa, and statin drugs commonly prescribed for hypercholesterolemia, effectively target this pathway. Statins exhibit anti-PCa activity, however the resulting intracellular depletion of cholesterol triggers a feedback loop that restores MVA pathway activity, thus diminishing statin efficacy and contributing to resistance.

Methods: This multicenter retrospective case-control study with a test-negative design was conducted at 12 hospitals in Israel.
Background: Intensive cardiac care units (ICCUs) were created to manage ventricular arrhythmias after acute coronary syndromes, but have diversified to include a more heterogeneous population, the characteristics of which are not well depicted by conventional methods.
Aims: To identify ICCU patient subgroups by phenotypic unsupervised clustering integrating clinical, biological, and echocardiographic data to reveal pathophysiological differences.
Methods: During 7-22 April 2021, we recruited all consecutive patients admitted to ICCUs in 39 centers.
Left atrial (LA) fibrosis plays a vital role as a mediator in the progression of atrial fibrillation. 3D late gadolinium-enhancement (LGE) MRI has been proven effective in identifying LA fibrosis. Image analysis of 3D LA LGE involves manual segmentation of the LA wall, which is both lengthy and challenging.

Discrepancies have been reported between sexes regarding delays, pathways and invasive strategies in CS complicating acute myocardial infarction. However, effect of sex on the prognosis of unselected CS remains controversial.

The discovery of new biomarkers that can improve AMI risk prediction meets a major clinical need for the identification of high-risk patients and the tailoring of medical treatment. Previously, we reported that autophagy a highly conserved catabolic mechanism for intracellular degradation of cellular components is involved in atherosclerotic plaque phenotype and cardiac pathological remodeling.

Thus, this study investigated the association between guideline-directed heart failure (HF) medical therapy (GDMT) and one-year survival rate in patients who are post-CS.
Methods And Results: FRENSHOCK (French Observatory on the Management of Cardiogenic Shock in 2016) registry was a prospective multicenter observational survey, conducted in metropolitan French intensive care units and intensive cardiac care units.
Aims: There is a growing body of literature on long-term outcomes post-transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), but to our knowledge, few research have focused on patients with advanced cardiac dysfunction. This challenging category of patients was excluded from the Partner 3 clinical trial. There are no data to guide the choice of valve type in patients with severely depressed ejection fraction.

Autophagy is a highly conserved catabolic mechanism for intracellular degradation of cellular components through lysosomes. The autophagy process helps maintain cardiac homeostasis and dysregulated autophagy has been described in cardiovascular conditions.
