Profile of environmental service managers and workers in Brazilian hospitals.

Introduction: Contamination through the hands of professionals and surfaces is one of the main agents involved in health care-associated infections in health services. Flaws in the execution of hospital housekeeping can lead to the contamination of surfaces and health equipment though, representing a risk for patient safety and highlighting the need to maximize the quality of cleaning processes in these institutions.

Objective: To describe the profile of managers and environmental service workers (ESWs) in Brazilian hospitals.

Factors associated with HIV prevalence in a prison population.

Objective: To analyze HIV prevalence and associated factors in inmates in a prison in a state in the Northeast region of Brazil.

Method: Epidemiological, cross-sectional study carried out with prisoners. Interviews were conducted using a form and a rapid test for the diagnosis.

Technology use for health education to caregivers: an integrative review of nursing literature.

Providing caregivers with health education through educational technologies enhances safe care; and stimulates the decision process and communication among professionals, caregivers and patients. This article is an integrative review to identify what educational technologies have been used for health education to caregivers. The databases Web of Science, Bireme and Scopus were consulted.

Development, implementation, and assessment of a distance module in endocrine physiology.

This study aimed to develop, implement, and assess a distance module in endocrine physiology in TelEduc for undergraduate nursing students from a public university in Brazil, with a sample size of 44 students. Stage 1 consisted of the development of the module, through the process of creating a distance course by means of the Web. Stage 2 was the planning of the module's practical functioning, and stage 3 was the planning of student evaluations.
