Artificial Intelligence (AI) has shown remarkable potential to revolutionise healthcare by enhancing diagnostics, improving treatment outcomes, and streamlining administrative processes. In the global regulatory landscape, several countries are working on regulating AI in healthcare. There are five key regulatory issues that need to be addressed: (i) -measures to cover the "digital health footprints" left unknowingly by patients when they access AI in health services; (ii) -availability of safe and secure data and more open database sources for AI, algorithms, and datasets to ensure equity and prevent demographic bias; (iii) -mapping of the explainability and causability of the AI system; (iv) -whether this lies with the healthcare professional, healthcare organisation, or the personified AI algorithm; (v) -whether fundamental rights of people are met in an ethical manner.

Methods: Caregivers of 22 patients were administered a qualitative survey assessing their perceptions of clinic efficiency, care coordination, and communication. Surveys were audio-recorded and transcribed.
Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) cells use glutamine (Gln) to support proliferation and redox balance. Early attempts to inhibit Gln metabolism using glutaminase inhibitors resulted in rapid metabolic reprogramming and therapeutic resistance. Here, we demonstrated that treating PDAC cells with a Gln antagonist, 6-diazo-5-oxo-L-norleucine (DON), led to a metabolic crisis in vitro.

While current literature has primarily analyzed single institution outcomes, this study utilized a national database to describe readmission rates and factors correlated with readmission for children with cerebral palsy undergoing hip surgery in order to treat this population more effectively.
Methods: This study queried the Nationwide Readmissions Database (2014-2018) for pediatric patients with cerebral palsy who underwent hip surgery.
Objective: No validated tools exist to measure pediatric home healthcare quality. The objective of this work was to develop a family-reported survey (PediHome) to measure the quality of home healthcare for children with medical complexity (CMC).
Methods: A national multidisciplinary expert panel (N = 19) was convened to develop survey content domains.
Objectives: Once the COVID-19 pandemic arrived in New York City (NYC), stay-at-home orders led to more time spent indoors, potentially increasing exposure to secondhand marijuana and tobacco smoke via incursions from common areas or neighbors. The objective of this study was to characterize housing-based disparities in marijuana and tobacco incursions in NYC housing during the pandemic.
Design: We surveyed a random sample of families from May to July 2020 and collected sociodemographic data, housing characteristics, and the presence, frequency, and pandemic-related change in incursions.
α-ketoglutarate (KG), also referred to as 2-oxoglutarate, is a key intermediate of cellular metabolism with pleiotropic functions. Cell-permeable esterified analogs are widely used to study how KG fuels bioenergetic and amino acid metabolism and DNA, RNA, and protein hydroxylation reactions, as cellular membranes are thought to be impermeable to KG. Here we show that esterified KG analogs rapidly hydrolyze in aqueous media, yielding KG that, in contrast to prevailing assumptions, imports into many cell lines.

Materials And Methods: Guidelines from the British National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), the British Association of Dermatologists (BAD), the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), the National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF), and the Canadian Dermatology Association (CDA) were reviewed and compared.
Results: Various guidelines are similar regarding treatment initiation but have significant differences regarding topics such as continuous versus intermittent therapy, use in erythrodermic and pustular palmoplantar psoriasis and special patient populations.
Autophagy has been shown to be elevated in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), and its role in promoting established tumor growth has made it a promising therapeutic target. However, due to limitations of prior mouse models as well as the lack of potent and selective autophagy inhibitors, the ability to fully assess the mechanistic basis of how autophagy supports pancreatic cancer has been limited. To test the feasibility of treating PDAC using autophagy inhibition and further our understanding of the mechanisms of protumor effects of autophagy, we developed a mouse model that allowed the acute and reversible inhibition of autophagy.
