Background: The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) publishes quality measures to gauge performance in Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs). ACO-27 (Diabetes Mellitus: Hemoglobin A1c Poor Control) and ACO-41 (Diabetes: Eye Exam), are 2 components for the Diabetes Composite measure. ACO-42 focuses on Statin Therapy for the Prevention and Treatment of Cardiovascular (CV) Disease.
