<b>Background and Objective:</b> Cerebellar fluorosis is a health issue associated with excessive exposure to fluoride (F) either in direct or indirect ways as pesticides, drinking water and caries preventing prescriptions. It is characterized by elevation in oxidative stress, inflammation, demyelination and Purkinje cell loss. <i>Moringa oleifera</i> (M), is a widely cultivated plant used as a health-booster agent in modulating various disorders because of its high content of vitamins and minerals.

Objective: Evaluation of glycodelin (Gd) concentrations in serum and cervico-vaginal secretions as a predictor for implantation after ICSI.

Materials And Methods: Prospective study on 50 women undergoing ICSI where long protocol ovarian stimulation was used. Serum and cervico-vaginal lavage Gd concentrations were measured then rates of biochemical and clinical pregnancy were detected and predictive value was evaluated using logistic regression analysis.

Article Synopsis
  • Ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO) is a common issue in pediatric urology, and while treatment guidelines are clear, the best approach for children with poorly functioning kidneys remains debated.
  • This study involved a retrospective evaluation of 21 children with significant UPJO (DRF ≤20%) who underwent open dismembered pyeloplasty, revealing promising outcomes after surgery with improved kidney function in many cases.
  • Follow-up results showed a notable improvement in renal health indicators, with no complications or need for reintervention in the patients studied, indicating that pyeloplasty can be effective even in those with lower kidney function.

Introduction And Objective: Anderson-Hynes dismembered pyeloplasty is considered the standard surgical treatment for ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO). After pyeloplasty, stent drainage remains controversial. The commonly used stents are either an internal double-J (DJ) or an externalized pyeloureteral (PU) stents.

Objective Vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) is a common finding in the pediatric population with the risk of repeated infections and renal damage. There is little is known about the natural history of primary bilateral high-grade reflux. Herein we present our experience in the management of primary high-grade bilateral VUR and the long-term outcome of renal function in this specific group of patients.

Experiments were performed investigating citronella (Cymbopogon winterianus Jowitt) as a repellent to honeybee Apis mellifera (L.) (Hymenoptera: Apidae) in Egypt, it was conducted in laboratory in the Department of Entomology and Pesticides Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Cairo University, to check long-term survival of honeybee when exposed to different nano insecticides alone or combined with citronella at the same examination box for each. In this study, we used a modeling approach regarding survival data of caged worker bees under chronic exposure to four insecticides (Chloropyrophos, Nano-chloropyrophos Imidacloprid, Nano-Imidacloprid) each of them was supplemented in a box alone and in combination with citronella.

Background: Crossed fused renal ectopia (CFRE) is a rare congenital malformation. Renal bladder ultrasound (RBUS) is a good tool for establishing the diagnosis, however, additional imaging with a voiding cystourethrogram (VCUG) and dimercaptosuccinic acid scan (DMSA) might be required. We assessed the need for postnatal evaluation and the long-term consequences in patients with this diagnosis.

Rhynchophorus ferrugineus (RPW) (Olivier) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) is one of the most destructive pest of palm according to dozens of literature, a lot of effort have been made since three decades up to date to solve this problem, one of newest solution raised is using nano pesticides. Imidacloprid and Chloropyrophos and their nano form were tested against 10 days-old larvae and newly emerged adults of the red palm weevil. The pesticides had toxicological and pathological effects on Rh.

Baculoviruses are considered as effective bio pesticides except of being not active under sunlight conditions. The aim of this study is to evaluate the capability of moringa extract to prolong virus activity under Egyptian field conditions especially that Moringa proved to be strong protective material under previous investigation under laboratory conditions the addition of moringa filters were tested on tomato plant foliage. Results are based on leaf bioassay using Spodoptera littoralis test insect and its nuclepolyhedrovirus (SpliNPV) as standard materials.

Background: Data from previous studies on the role of inflammatory cytokines as biomarkers for diabetic kidney disease (DKD) are contradictory. The association of a particular inflammatory cytokine single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) with susceptibility to DKD has not been consistently replicated. We aimed to investigate the utility of inflammatory cytokines as biomarkers for DKD in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients.

Introduction: Fetal hydronephrosis (HN) occurs in approximately 5% of pregnancies and its prognosis depends mainly on the grade of the dilation. We attempted to determine the fate of isolated, unilateral, high-grade HN in children with antenatal diagnosis, emphasizing the risk factors for progression.

Methods: We retrospectively evaluated 424 children (690 kidney units) with antenatal HN in the period between 2010 and 2014.

Objective: To assess intrapartum sonographic measurements of fetal head circumference (HC) and estimated fetal weight (EFW) to predict operative delivery.

Methods: In a prospective study, 200 spontaneously parturient primiparous women aged 20-30 years were enrolled at a teaching hospital in Cairo, Egypt, between October 2, 2015, and January 28, 2016. HC and EFW were measured by transabdominal ultrasonography.
