Background: Intracranial hydatid cyst is an exceedingly uncommon condition. Typically, it manifests as hydatid cysts in the liver, lungs, kidney, and spleen. In this report, we present a rare case of a hydatid cyst located in the brain, exhibiting atypical radiological characteristics, and successfully treated with complete microsurgical excision.

Background: An advanced liver fibrosis did not abolish an Egyptian ethnicity as a favourable predictor for hepatitis C genotype 4 (HCV-GT4) outcome, that raises genetic issues.
Patients And Methods: Multiple databases were searched from inception up to 1 April, 2020 for all studies included Egyptians, whose were genotyped for Interleukin-28B (IL-B28) in the setting of HCV. The pooled odds ratios (ORs) were based on a fixed or random effect model as appropriate.
Aims: This study investigated the hepatoprotective effects of both zafirlukast and vincamine and their possible role in the treatment of tamoxifen-induced liver injury in rats.
Materials And Methods: Female Wistar rats were divided into five groups (10 rats each). Groups I and II received 1% Tween 80 and served as normal and tamoxifen controls, respectively.

Therapy-related myelodysplastic syndrome (t-MDS) is a serious complication of chemoradiotherapy for primary diseases. This cohort was aimed to determine the clinical features and outcomes of t-MDS in comparison with de novo MDS. I retrieved data of 666 cases with t-MDS, and 29,703 cases with de novo MDS diagnosed between 2001 and 2012 from the database of U.

I conducted an analysis of the U.S Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database to evaluate the histological subtypes and the survival outcomes of 785 cases with hepatic NHL between 1973 and 2012.

Background: T-lymphoblastic lymphoma (T-LL) and B-lymphoblastic lymphoma (B-LL) are aggressive lymphoid neoplasms accounting for 2% to 4% of adult non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The aim of the present analysis was to characterize the clinical features and histologic subtypes and to assess the clinical prognostic factors for 696 adult patients with LL, the largest epidemiologic sample to date.
Patients And Methods: The present retrospective cohort study used the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database to identify adult patients (age, > 18 years) with LL with data recorded from 2001 to 2012.

Objective: To determine the survival outcome and prognostic factors of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) survival in patients who underwent radiofrequency ablation (RFA).
Methods: The Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) database was queried: There were 2588 HCC patients from 2004 to 2012 who underwent RFA. The Kaplan-Meier curves and the multivariate Cox regression analysis were used to assess the prognostic factors.

Purpose: The aim of this study is to evaluate the clinicopathologic prognostic factors of cancer-specific survival (CSS) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients who underwent liver transplantation (LT) stratified by tumor size.
Methods: From the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) 18 registries (2004-2012), we retrieved data of 570 patients who underwent LT for a solitary primary HCC lesion ≤5 cm. A two multivariable Cox models were constructed to identify prognostic factors of CSS in a two different tumor sizes (2 cm cutoff).
Primary effusion lymphoma (PEL) is a rare and an aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma with a distinctive clinicobiological features. As a result of the rarity of this malignancy, the overwhelming majority of data come from a case reports or series. Our study aimed to evaluate the clinical features and the survival outcomes of 105 patients with PEL who diagnosed between 2001 and 2012 from the Surveillance Epidemiology and End Results database 18 of the US National Cancer Institute.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the usefulness of measuring circulating fibroblast growth factor-23 (FGF-23) level and paraoxonase-1 (PON1) lactonase activity as potential predictors of native AV fistula thrombosis in chronic HD patients.
Methods: This study included 83 HD patients (48 with thrombosed and 35 with non-thrombosed native AV fistulas) and 38 healthy volunteers.
Glycosylation of 1,2-Dihydro-5-(1H-indol-2-yl)-1,2,4-triazole-3-thione with 2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-α-D-glucopyranosyl bromide, 2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-α-D-galactopyranosyl bromide and 2-acetamido-3,4,6-tri-O-acetyl-2-deoxy-α-D-glucopyranosyl chloride was investigated in the presence of Et₃N and K₂CO₃ as acid scavengers. A regioselective S-glycosides were obtained by using Et₃N whereas, using K₂CO₃ gave a mixtures of two hybrids having two glycosidic bonds. The two products of each mixture were separated and characterized as S,N(1)- and S,N(2)-bis(glycosylated) derivatives.

Treatment of 10 with absolute alcohols, amines and ethyl amino acid ester gave the corresponding carbamate derivative (11), substituted urea derivative (12) and ethyl substituted alkyl acetate (13) respectively. The biological activity of some synthesized compounds was evaluated.

The prevalence of persistent hepatitis (B) surface (HBs) antigenaemia and some hepatic functions have been determined in 52 children with SHF as well as in 100 age-matched healthy children. High prevalence of chronic HBs antigenaemia (58 per cent) has been demonstrated in children with SHF, but only in 2 per cent of the normal children.
