A water-soluble bifunctional, bistate ruthenium catalyst has been developed using the 8-aminoquinoline ligand which responds to an acid-base stimuli and is catalytically active for two complementary reactions. The "Ru-amino state" is highly active for catalytic transfer hydrogenation of various aldehydes using formic acid as the hydrogen source resulting in a range of primary alcohols. On the other hand, the "Ru-amido state" is active for the acceptorless dehydrogenation of alcohols to yield carboxylate salts or ketones.

Aims: To assess the severity of acute pancreatitis (AP) using computed tomography (CT) severity index (CTSI) and modified CT severity index (MCTSI), to correlate with clinical outcome measures, and to assess concordance with severity grading, as per the revised Atlanta classification (RAC).

Materials And Methods: In this prospective study approved by the Institutional Review Board (November 2014 to March 2016), sixty patients with AP (as per the RAC definition) underwent contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT) 5-11 days (median 6 days) after symptom onset. Two radiologists, blinded to clinical parameters, independently assessed CTSI and MCTSI (differences were resolved by consensus).

Background: Insulinomas, which are rare tumors causing hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia are usually sporadic but may also occur in association with multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1 (MEN-1) syndrome an autosomal dominant disorder caused by MEN1 gene mutations. MEN1 encodes a nuclear protein Menin, a tumor suppressor which acts as an adapter and interacts with partner proteins involved in crucial activities like transcriptional regulation, cell division, proliferation and genome stability. This study reports on clinical findings and mutation screening in sporadic insulinoma patients.

Isolated Tubercular liver abscess is mainly reported in adult patients. We report two cases of isolated tubercular liver abscess in paediatric patients. Diagnosis was made by clinical and ultrasound guided aspiration of pus showing acid fast bacilli in one case.
