Introduction And Purpose: The developmental eye movement (DEM) test is designed to assess saccadic eye movements and visual-verbal automaticity in children. This study aimed to assess whether there is a need for independent DEM Hebrew norms and to compare DEM results for Hebrew-speaking children with eight other language norms.
Methods: The DEM test was administered to 224 Hebrew-speaking children aged 6-13 years who met the inclusion criteria and read the numbers in Hebrew.
Peptides have broad biological significance among different species. Intracellular peptides are considered a particular class of bioactive peptides, whose generation is initiated by proteasomal degradation of cytosolic, nuclear, or mitochondrial proteins. To extract and purify intracellular peptides, which may apply for biological peptides in general, it is important to consider the initial source: tissue, cell, or fluid.

After the soldering process an automated optical inspection (AOI) is the common method determining whether a PCB shall go to a manual inspection and rework station (MIS) or can directly go further to the next process step. Thereby, the AOI is a vision-based system deriving user defined physical measurements from a camera image.

In the context of ethanol, previous research has shown OXT's properties in reducing self-administration, alleviating motor impairment in rodents, and reducing craving in humans. However, its role in behavioral sensitization, a neuroadaptive response resulting from repeated drug exposure linked to an increased drug incentive, remains unexplored.

Its application to cancer treatment is expanding. In particular, Auger-electron emitters potentially exhibit high efficacy in treating either small metastases or single tumor cells due to their short range in tissue.

Here, human plasma relative concentration of specific InPeps was compared between 175 patients infected with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), and 45 SARS-CoV-2 non-infected patients; 2,466 unique peptides were identified, of which 67% were InPeps. The results revealed differences of a specific group of peptides in human plasma comparing non-infected individuals to patients infected by SARS-CoV-2, following the results of the semi-quantitative analyses by isotope-labeled electrospray mass spectrometry.

Previously, the DEM has been studied in nine languages, all read from L to R and has never been tested on Hebrew speakers.
Methods: Healthy Hebrew-speaking children, aged 6-13 years were divided into two age groups (6-9, 10-13 years).

Cold acclimation and pharmacological peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ (PPARγ) activation have each earlier been shown to recruit brown adipose tissue (BAT) and beige adipocytes thermogenic machinery, enhancing uncoupling protein 1 (UCP1)-mediated thermogenic capacity. We here investigated whether cold acclimation and PPARγ agonism combined have additive effects in inducing brown and beige adipocytes UCP1 content and whether this translates into a higher thermogenic capacity and energy expenditure. C57BL/6J mice treated or not with pioglitazone (30 mg/kg/day) were maintained at 21°C or exposed to cold (7°C) for 15 days and evaluated for thermogenic capacity, energy expenditure and interscapular BAT (iBAT) and inguinal white adipose tissue (iWAT) mass, morphology, UCP1 content and gene expression, glucose uptake and oxygen consumption.

In fact, almost all stable elements have been subject to muonic atom spectroscopy measurements and the absolute charge radii extracted from these measurements typically offer the highest accuracy available. However, so far only targets of at least a few hundred milligram could be used as it required to stop a muon beam directly in the target to form the muonic atom.

The forced changes in academia during COVID-19 pandemic, rapid switching to online methods imposed serious challenges on the training of reflective skills. We hypothesize that the synchronous online sessions of case-based reflections are effective in imparting training for reflective practice in optometry students.

We report on the application of an innovative whey protein amyloids-carbon hybrid filter for the removal and disposal of the long-lived radioactive fission product Cs from aqueous samples. Test experiments revealed a reduction of Cs radioactivity by a factor of 340 compared to the initial solution, with an efficiency as high as 99.7%.

Understanding the function of brain cortices requires simultaneous investigation at multiple spatial and temporal scales and to link neural activity to an animal's behavior. A major challenge is to measure within- and across-layer information in actively behaving animals, in particular in mice that have become a major species in neuroscience due to an extensive genetic toolkit.

Among venomous snake species in Brazil, the tropical rattlesnake (Crotalus durissus terrificus) accounts for the highest number of fatal envenomations and is responsible for the second highest number of bites. Snake venoms are complex secretions which, upon injection, trigger diverse physiological effects that can cause significant injury or death.

Here, the main aim was to investigate the intracellular effects of intracellular peptide VFDVELL (VFD7) and related peptides on PPI. The internalization of the peptides was achieved using a C-terminus covalently bound cell-penetrating peptide (cpp; YGRKKRRQRRR).

Here, the role of intracellular peptides previously identified from skeletal muscle and adipose tissues of C57BL6/N wild type (WT) and neurolysin knockout mice were investigated. In differentiated C2C12 mouse skeletal muscle cells, some of these intracellular peptides like insulin activated the expression of several genes related to muscle contraction and gluconeogenesis.

Previous knowledge in form of a cognitive map can facilitate knowledge acquisition and will influence how we learn new spatial information. Here, we developed a new spatial navigation task where food locations are learned in a large, gangway maze to test how mice learn a large spatial map over a longer time period-the HexMaze.

Under the exactly same chemical conditions, comparative studies with the lighter homologues of Group 5 in the Periodic Table clearly indicate the volatility sequence being NbOCl > TaOCl ≥ DbOCl . From the obtained experimental results, thermochemical data for DbOCl were derived.

The chemical investigation of the heaviest elements of the periodic table is a truly multidisciplinary effort, which allows scientists to venture into a variety of fields ranging from nuclear and radiochemistry to experimental and theoretical work in inorganic and physical chemistry all the way to nuclear and atomic physics. The structure and fundamental ordering scheme of all elements in the periodic table, as established more than 150 years ago, is at stake: The ever increasing addition of new elements at the heavy end of the periodic table together with a growing influence of relativistic effects, raises the question of how much periodicity applies in this region of the table.
