Using phospholipases A(2)-specific spectrophotometric assays, it was shown thatA. castellaniilysates and their conditioned medium exhibit phospholipase activities. The extracellular levels of PLA(2)detected were significantly reduced compared with the cell-associated enzyme (P<0.
