The safety and efficacy of miniaturized percutaneous nephrolithotomy in children.

To assess the use of miniaturized percutaneous nephrolithotomy (mini-PCNL) for renal stones in children, as well as its safety and efficacy. Seventy-seven patients with more than 15 mm renal stones whose age was less than 15 years were enrolled in this prospective case-controlled study at Al-Ramadi Teaching Hospital, Ar Razi Private Hospital, and Ghazi Al-Hariri Hospital for Surgical Specialties, Anbar and Baghdad, Iraq. The study was conducted from January 2020 to January 2024.

Efficacy of growth hormone supplementation with ultrashort GnRH antagonist in IVF/ICSI for poor responders; randomized controlled trial.

Objectives: To compare the ICSI-ET outcomes in poor responders who underwent ovarian stimulation by the ultrashort GnRH antagonist protocol with or without adjuvant GH injection.

Material And Methods: This randomized controlled study was conducted at Al-Azhar University from December-2018 to June-2019 upon 156 participants. All patients received the same preparations.

Nutritional knowledge following interventional educational sessions in children on regular hemodialysis.

To evaluate the impact of nutritional knowledge following interventional educational sessions in chronic dialysis patients, we studied 40 children on chronic regular hemodialysis (HD) at the beginning and after six months of nutrition educational sessions using a predesigned questionnaire. We also measured the anthropometric parameters of nutrition to evaluate the impact of this education on the health of patients. We found a highly statistically significant increase in patients' scores and in adequate knowledge using the questionnaire after the educational sessions.

Fatal acute purulent pericarditis in a patient with renal transplant: a case report.

Objectives: Acute purulent pericarditis is a lifethreatening disease, although it is becoming uncommon in the era of antibiotics.

Materials And Methods: We present a case of fatal acute massive purulent pericarditis in a kidney transplant recipient.

Results: A 46-year-old woman had an unrelated commercial renal transplant in 2003.

Acute Renal Failure in a Patient with both Leptospirosis and Dengue Fever.

The spectrum of tropical nephropathies includes Acute Renal Failure (ARF) or Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) due to infective agents that are endemic in the tropics which include Leptospira (LS) and Dengue Viruses (DV). The major histological feature is Acute Tubular Necrosis (ATN).(1, 2)We report the case of a patient who presented ARF with co-infection with both agents.
