Four-electrode electrochemical cells are widely used for signal conversion in molecular-electronic transfer (MET) motion sensors. The most used ACCA (anode-cathode-cathode-anode) configuration has proven its performance and usefulness for obtaining a superior conversion factor and a wider frequency range over standard geophones at room temperature. However, the MET sensor conversion factor decreases a thousand-fold or more when the temperature drops from room temperature to 233 K.

Molecular electronic sensors of motion parameters use miniature electrochemical cells as a sensitive element, in which the interelectrode current is sensitive to external mechanical influences. New approaches for creating conversion elements are based on precision methods of micromachining materials. The use of new technologies has opened up the possibility of creating sensitive elements with configurations that have not been previously studied, and for which there is no clear understanding of the regularities that determine the output parameters depending on the geometry of the conversion elements.

A PASE (pot, step, atom, economic) synthetic approach to 5-aryl-6-arylthio-2,2'-bipyridine and 6-arylthio-2,5-diarylpyridine ligands/fluorophores has been reported via SH in 6-aryl-5H-1,2,4-triazines/aza-Diels-Alder reaction sequence. In this article, the "1,2,4-triazine" methodology was successfully used for the synthesis of C6-thiophenol-substituted (2,2'-bi)pyridines as it is well known that thio-substituted (bi)pyridines and their aza-analogs are of wide practical interest. The photophysical properties of the obtained compounds are studied and compared with those reported earlier for 6-substituted 2,2'-bipyridines.

Molecular genetic techniques (NGS sequencing and quantitative PCR) were used to determine the composition of the cecal bacterial community of broiler chickens fed with different mixed fodder. The Cecal microbiome exhibited taxonomic diversity, with both typical inhabitants of avian intestine belonging to the families Clostridiaceae, Eubacteriaceae, and Lactobacillaceae and to the phylum Bacteroidetes, and new un- identified taxa, as well as bacteria of the families Lachnospiraceae and Ruminococcaceae, which were previ- ously considered restricted to the rumen microflora. Contrary to traditional concepts, enterococci and bi- fidobacteria were among the minor components of the community, lactate-fermenting species were absent, and typical avian pathogens of the genus Staphylococcus were detected but seldom.

Despite more than 100 years of study, the mechanisms of natural resistance of the hibernator heart to cardiac arrhythmias during hypothermia has remained unknown. Intraoperative biopsy specimens were used to analyze the sizes and ultrastructure of cardiomyocytes (CMC) in the atrialized right ventricle (ARV) versus those in the right ventricle (RV) and right atrium (RA) in 32 patients aged 9 months to 57 years with Ebstein anomaly. The mean CMC diameter in ARV, RV, and RA did not differ significantly in patients less than 10 years; that was equal in ARV and RV, but higher in RA in patients over 10 years of age. No specific atrial granules were found in the CMC of ARV, RV, and RA; but T system channels and multiple intercalated disks were encountered significantly more frequently than in the RA cells.

This paper describes the development of a computation model of a pulsed voltage generator for a repetitive electron accelerator. The model is based on a principle circuit of the generator, supplemented with the parasitics elements of the construction. Verification of the principle model was achieved by comparison of simulation with experimental results, where reasonable agreement was demonstrated for a wide range of generator load resistance.

Myocardial cells in pulmonary veins are thought to play a major role in the initiation and maintenance of atrial arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation. In experiments on rat pulmonary veins, antiarrhythmic drug niferidil (RG-2) produced increase of APD90% and functional refractory period and decrease of action potential amplitude and slope of APD restitution curve. Thus niferidil (RG-2) exerts stronger action on pulmonary veins than left atrium.

The study of the problem of impairment of the kidneys in gout is important because investigation of gout nephropathy specifies the role of hyperuricemia (a known risk factor) in development of renal damage, on the one side, and emphasizes the role of early detection of hyperuricemic genesis of nephropathy allowing prognosis improvement due to administration of uricostatic treatment, on the other side.
