Hansen Disease (Leprosy) and Armadillo Exposure in Arkansas: A Case Series.

Background: Although most cases of Hansen disease (HD) in the United States are imported from endemic areas, a subset of cases are relate to exposure to nine-banded armadillos. Several recent cases of HD in Arkansas occurred in patients who had not traveled to endemic areas and who reported variable degrees of armadillo exposure.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to report 6 cases of HD diagnosed in Arkansas between 2004 and 2016.

Skin Adnexal Tumors in Plain Language: A Practical Approach for the General Surgical Pathologist.

Context.—: Skin adnexal tumors, those neoplasms deriving from hair follicles and sweat glands, are often a source of confusion amongst even experienced pathologists. Many well-described entities have overlapping features, tumors are often only partially sampled, and many cases do not fit neatly into well-established classification schemes.

CLL/SLL with initial presentation as a longstanding cutaneous plaque: a rare case.

While chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma (CLL/SLL) is the most common leukemia in the western world, it uncommonly initially presents as a cutaneous lesion. When it does, it is often found incidentally in the context of another distinct lesion. We present a case of CLL/SLL that initially presented as a solitary nodular erythematous plaque on the left flank of a healthy 60-year-old man without lymphadenopathy or constitutional symptoms.
