This paper proposes the concept and reports the demonstrator of an optically powered fiber/wireless (FiWi) system based on a hybrid visible light communication (VLC) and RF access network for beyond 5G (B5G) indoor applications. The power-over-fiber (PoF) technology is properly applied to simultaneously energize two components from the remote site, namely: a radio-over-fiber (RoF) module, which contains a photodetector and an RF amplifier; a red laser from the VLC system. The proposed PoF system is composed of a 500 m conventional multimode optical fiber (MMF) with a 62.

This work reports the implementation of a fiber-optics and visible light communication (VLC)-based flexible optical distribution network for beyond the fifth generation of mobile networks (B5G) applications. The proposed hybrid architecture is composed of a 12.5-km single-mode fiber fronthaul based on the analog radio-over-fiber (A-RoF) technology, followed by a red, green, and blue (RGB)-based VLC link of 1.

We experimentally demonstrate the use of optical frequency combs (OFCs), generated by a photonic integrated circuit (PIC), in a flexible optical distribution network based on fiber-optics and free-space optics (FSOs) links, aimed at the fifth generation of mobile network (5G) Xhauls. The Indium Phosphide (InP) monolithically integrated OFC is based on cascaded optical modulators and is broadly tunable in terms of operating wavelength and frequency spacing. Particularly, our approach relies on applying the PIC in a centralized radio access network (C-RAN) architecture, with the purpose of optically generating two low-phase noise mm-waves signals for simultaneously enabling a 12.

We report the experimental implementation of optically-powered wireless sensor nodes based on the power-over-fiber (PoF) technology, aiming at Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications. This technique employs optical fibers to transmit power and is proposed as a solution to address the hazardous industrial environment challenges, e.g.

Objective: To measure space closure during the retraction of upper permanent canines with self-ligating and conventional brackets.

Materials And Methods: Fifteen patients who required maxillary canine retraction into first premolar extraction sites as part of their orthodontic treatment completed this study. In a random split-mouth design, the retraction of upper canines was performed using an elastomeric chain with 150 g of force.
