SARS-CoV-2 infects host cells mainly through the interaction between the virus's Spike protein and the viral receptors namely Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme 2 (ACE2) and transmembrane serine protease 2 (TMPRSS2). The pandemic caused by the new coronavirus (SARS-Cov-2) has encouraged numerous studies and clinical trials around the world, with research groups testing existing drugs, novel drug candidates and vaccines that can prevent or treat infection caused by this virus. Chitosan films entrapped with the fraction (CMHF) was developed as a new dressing for wound care.
