There are many causes of low QRS voltage on the electrocardiogram (ECG). Although uncommon, there is evidence that an enlarged aorta can cause diminished QRS amplitude on ECG. In this case report, we describe an unusual presentation of low QRS voltage confined to the first three precordial leads (V1-V3) in a 77-year-old female with ascending aortic aneurysm.

This study aims to evaluate the chronological changes in epidemiology and clinical characteristics of BD patients in a referral center in Brazil, which is considered a non-endemic area for the disease.
Methods: A descriptive and cross-sectional study involving BD patients divided into two groups: group 1 patients were diagnosed and followed between 1988 and 2010, and group 2 were diagnosed and followed between 2011 and 2022.
Background: Systemic Sclerosis (SSc) patients may need hand surgery.
Objective: To develop a screening tool for rheumatologists to identify potential candidates with systemic sclerosis for hand surgery, optimizing referrals.
Methods: A pilot cross-sectional study from January 2015 to December 2016.
Background: Esketamine has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as an adjunctive treatment for use in conjunction with an oral antidepressant for patients with treatment-resistant depression (TRD), but dissociative symptoms are common adverse effects.
Methods: A retrospective analysis of 394 subcutaneous esketamine injections given to 70 patients with TRD that were administered once a week during a six-week trial in conjunction with oral antidepressant therapy. Doses between 0.
Background: PRKAG2 syndrome is a rare autosomal dominant disease, a phenocopy of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy characterized by intracellular glycogen accumulation. Clinical manifestations include ventricular preexcitation, cardiac conduction disorder, ventricular hypertrophy, and atrial arrhythmias.
Objective: To compare the clinical and electrophysiological characteristics observed in patients with atrial flutter, with and without PRKAG2 syndrome.
Objectives: To evaluate the Structural Index Score (SIS) - a clinical foot deformity assessment index developed for RA, and to compare its results with foot function, disability and physical performance tests.
Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 104 patients with foot pain were evaluated according to SIS score, subscales (Forefoot SIS and Rearfoot SIS) and items. Results were compared with the Foot Function Index (FFI), the Health Assessment Questionnaire Disability Index (using lower limbs items: LL-HAQ), and physical performance tests: Berg Balance Scale (BBS), the Timed Up and Go test (TUG) and the 5-Time Sit down-to-Stand up Test (SST5).

Introduction: The administration of multiple esketamine doses has shown efficacy for unipolar and bipolar treatment-resistant depression (TRD). Nevertheless, the probability of responding or not after each dose in the real-world remains unknown. This study aimed to estimate it throughout four doses of esketamine, administrated via subcutaneous (SC).

Design: Randomized controlled trial.
Setting: Outpatient rheumatology clinic.
Background: A large number of studies indicate that subanesthetic doses of ketamine induce a fast antidepressant effect. Limited studies have investigated the subcutaneous (SC) route, and it remains unclear for whom this treatment is most suitable.
Aims: The aim of this study was to examine the effect on depressive symptoms of repeated subanesthetic doses of SC esketamine in unipolar and bipolar treatment-resistant depression (TRD) and clinical predictors of response.

It is a type of protein-calorie malnutrition that occurs in the setting of insufficient protein intake in the presence of sufficient caloric intake. Skin and hair changes should prompt a thorough dietary history and appropriate dietary intervention.

Purpose: This case-series outcome study presents a surgical technique for anatomic double-bundle anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction with 4-tunnel using two interference screws. There was a 2-year minimum follow-up.
Methods: From January to December 2009, an ACL 4-tunnel, anatomic, double-bundle reconstruction was performed on 27 patients.
Introduction: Proximal and distal influences on the knee may be related as etiological factors of patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS). The distal factors include subtalar excessive pronation as well as medial tibia rotation, but no study has investigated whether ankle weakness could lead to alterations that influence the patellofemoral joint. Thus, the purpose of this study was to compare the ankle dorsiflexor and invertor muscles strength, as well as rearfoot eversion and the Navicular Drop Test (NDT) in females with PFPS to a control group of females of similar demographics without PFPS.

One hundred and twenty females between 15 and 40 years of age (control group: n = 60; PFP group: n = 60) participated in the study. Hip adductor, abductor, medial rotator, lateral rotator, flexor, and extensor isometric strength were measured using a hand-held dynamometer.

Background: Although recent advances in knee osteoarthritis (OA) treatment and evaluation were achieved, to the best of our knowledge, few studies have evaluated the longitudinal effect of therapeutic modalities on the functional exercise capacity of patients with knee OA. The purpose was to investigate the effects of kinesiotherapy and electrotherapy on functional exercise capacity, evaluated using the six-minute walk test (6-MWT) in patients with bilateral knee OA. Secondary measurements included range of motion (ROM), severity of knee pain (VAS), and a measure of perceived health and physical function, evaluated using the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities (WOMAC) Osteoarthritis Index.

Study Design: Randomized controlled trial.
Objectives: To determine if adding hip-strengthening exercises to a conventional knee exercise program produces better long-term outcomes than conventional knee exercises alone in women with patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS).
Background: Recent studies have shown that a hip-strengthening program reduces pain and improves function in individuals with PFPS.

Study Design: Randomized clinical trial.
Objective: To investigate the influence of strengthening the hip abductor and lateral rotator musculature on pain and function of females with patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS).
Background: Hip muscle weakness in women athletes has been the focus of many recent studies and is suggested as an important impairment to address in the conservative treatment of women with PFPS.
Study Design: Cross-sectional study.
Objective: To compare the hip strength of sedentary females with either unilateral or bilateral patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS) to a control group of sedentary females of similar demographics without PFPS.
Background: It has been suggested that hip muscle weakness may be an important factor in the etiology of young female athletes with PFPS.
Thromboangiitis obliterans (TAO) is an inflammatory, nonocclusive, and nonatherosclerotic vascular disease. It commonly affects arteries, veins, and surrounding neural elements and is directly related to smoking. Although distal vessels of lower and upper extremities are the most commonly involved, other vessels such as intestinal arteries can be rarely affected.
