Urban wastewater (UWW) and landfill leachate (LL) co-treatment using membrane bioreactors (MBRs) is a valuable method for managing LL in cities. Coagulants can enhance the filterability of mixed liquor (ML), but the assessment of fouling is still needed. This research aimed to investigate the effects of co-treating synthetic wastewater (SWW) and real LL on an MBR, as well as the impact of adding poly-aluminum chloride (PACl) and Tanfloc SG.

N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) was used as a solvent and demineralized water with an electrical conductivity below 3 μS·cm was used as a non-solvent. A new approach to producing enhanced polymeric hollow fiber membranes based on the preparation of a simple blend PVDF/PES solution, and on the conformation of the composite membranes through the extrusion technique followed by the phase inversion process in a non-solvent bath, was applied.

Although previous studies have demonstrated excellent performance in the removal of conventional organic pollutants, further research into the removal paths of emerging contaminants (ECs) under various operating conditions is required for proper design and development of the AnFMBR technology. Regarding this, the fate of four ECs in a lab-scale AnFMBR filled with thermoplastic gel for biofilm growth was investigated under various Hydraulic Retention Time (HRT) conditions.

For this purpose, the system was operated in two different dissolved oxygen concentrations (2.3 ± 0.

However, there is still a gap about the toxicity effect of AMX in nitrifier biomass from activated sludge (AS). This study is based on the implementation of respirometric tests in batches in order to evaluate the toxic effluent toxicity in the nitrification process of AS.

The present work evaluated the efficiency of an MBR pilot system in removing amoxicillin from synthetic wastewater using a continuous flow pre-denitrification MBR (A/O-MBR) pilot unit. The system operated in three phases: (1) synthetic wastewater and hydraulic retention time (HRT) of 40 h; (2) adding amoxicillin 100 μg L to the influent, and (3) varying flowrate to HRT of 20 h.
