Aim: This study aimed to test the applicability of the methods proposed by Olze et al. (2012) and Timme et al. for dental age estimation in Brazilian subadults and adults.

Lag time of modern bomb-pulse radiocarbon in human bone tissues: New data from Brazil.

Radiocarbon analysis with reference to the modern bomb-curve was conducted using 68 bone samples of a vertebral body, femoral diaphysis, occipital bone, and parietal bone of 17 adults from Brazil. All individuals were born in 1963, thus analysis focused on the correlation with atmospheric values during the more recent, falling portion of the curve. Ages at death ranged from 43 to 54 years with representation of both sexes.

Age and sex estimation based on pulp cavity volume using cone beam computed tomography: development and validation of formulas in a Brazilian sample.

Objectives: To develop and validate formulas for age and sex estimation based on the pulp cavity volume of teeth using cone beam CT.

Methods: The sample was composed of 116 cone beam CT scans from Brazilian individuals of both sexes, ranging in age from 13 to 70 years. A total of 232 teeth (upper central incisors and canines) were evaluated.

The aim of this study evaluated the dimensions of the orbital aperture in Brazilian subjects to verify its relationship to gender. The orbital apertures of 97 individuals were examined through Caldwell radiographic technique.

Endoscopic removal of an endodontic file accidentally swallowed: clinical and legal approaches.

The use of a rubber dam is an essential procedure when treating root canals, and not using it may compromise the success of the treatment, as well as the patient's health. This report presents a case in which a K-file was accidentally swallowed during an endodontic procedure, performed without the use of a rubber dam. Given the absence of immediate clinical complications, the subject underwent a chest radiograph.
