The mid-urethral sling (MUS) is the most common surgical treatment for stress urinary incontinence (SUI), but complications like bladder or urethral sling exposure can occur, requiring surgical management.
A study on 18 women revealed various cases of sling exposure, classified by severity, confirmed through flexible urethro-cystoscopy, and treated with surgical removal of eroded materials.
After follow-up, 17 out of 18 patients showed no sling exposure, and many reported improved urologic comfort, with some requiring multiple surgical procedures to address complications.
