Objectives: To evaluate for increased rectal bleeding following enoxaparin thromboprophylaxis in children hospitalized for ulcerative colitis (UC).
Methods: Retrospective cohort study (2007--2016) of 218 inpatients with active UC. Patients receiving enoxaparin were compared with a nonenoxaparin-treated patient group.
Blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasm is a rare hematopoietic malignancy with a poor prognosis that is seen primarily in the elderly population. We describe a pediatric patient with blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasm who subsequently developed Guillain Barre syndrome followed by hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis. All 3 conditions are uncommon, particularly in the pediatric population.
