The goal of the current study was to assess levels of salivary interleukin (IL)-38, IL-1β, and IL-10 in various periodontal clinical conditions. In total, 60 (20 healthy, 20 gingivitis, and 20 stage II-III, grade A-B periodontitis) subjects were included in the study. Demographic and clinical periodontal parameters were recorded.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLung cancer is the most common type of cancer in our country and worldwide, and it is a leading cause of cancer-related deaths. According to the latest global cancer statistics, lung cancer was identified as the second most common type of cancer, and the leading cause of cancer-related deaths. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are a highly heterogeneous class of RNA molecules sharing many characteristics with mRNAs, except for the protein-coding potential.

Patient-derived explants (PDEs) culture model is of great importance in terms of the possibility of tumor cell culture with the microenvironment, and the development of molecular mechanisms and personalized treatment methods. In our study, primary tumor culture with microenvironment was performed using different methods from tumor tissues obtained from 51 patients with NSCLC.

In this study, we aimed to evaluate levels of salivary NLRC4 inflammasomes in different periodontal clinical statuses.
Methods: The individuals with 20 periodontally healthy (healthy), 20 gingivitis, and 20 periodontitis were periodontally examined.
Objective: Our study compared the effects of injectable platelet-rich fibrin (i-PRF) with those of corticosteroids in the treatment of erosive oral lichen planus (EOLP).
Methodology: This split-mouth study included 24 individuals diagnosed histopathologically with bilateral EOLP. One bilateral lesion was injected with i-PRF, whereas the other was injected with methylprednisolone acetate in four sessions at 15-day intervals.
Accumulating data presented that tryptophan metabolic pathway (TMP) may play a role in attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). However, no study have investigated potential role of TMP in disruptive behavior disorders coexisting with ADHD. This study compared serum levels of tryptophan, kynurenine, kynurenic acid, 3-hydroxykynurenine and 3-hydroxyantranilic acid in medication-free children with ADHD combined presentation (ADHD-C), with ADHD-C and oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), and with ADHD-C and conduct disorder (CD) versus healthy controls.

Materials And Methods: In this split-mouth study, 33 systemically healthy patients with thin periodontal phenotypes were randomly treated with MN + i-PRF and i-PRF. I-PRF was injected on one side, and MN + i-PRF was performed on the other side of the same patient at 4 sessions with 10-day intervals.
Objective: The goal of the present study was to determine the effect of systemic and topical ozone application on alveolar bone loss (ABL) by evaluating the effect of Hypoxia-inducible factor -1 alpha (HIF-1-α) and receptor activator of NF-kB ligand (RANKL)-positive cells on histopathological and immunohistochemical changes in a rat periodontitis model.
Methodology: Thirty male Wistar rats were divided into three groups: 1) Group C (control group); 2) Group SO (systemic ozone group) and 3) Group TO (topical ozone group). Experimental periodontitis was induced with a 3/0 silk suture placed at the mandibular left first molars of rats, and the suture was removed 14 days later.

Sleep bruxism is a temporomandibular joint dysfunction that could conclude in various problems including masseter muscle hypertrophy, headaches, and periodontal problems. Despite various treatment strategies, such as behavioral therapy, oral appliances, and pharmacotherapy, suggested, there is no specific treatment for this disorder. We present a 7-year-old boy whose sleep bruxism symptoms disappeared with a single daily dose of buspirone treatment in this report.

Thirty-eight systematically healthy, never-smoker patients with chronic periodontitis were randomly assigned to one of two groups in a parallel design: 1-scaling and root planing (SRP) and 2-SRP + Laser (SRP + L). SRP and SRP + L administration were completed within 24 h.

One of the more significant oral complications is oral mucositis (OM) which induces severe pain and limits fundamental life behaviors such as eating, drinking, and talking. Although advancements in cancer treatment improved the survival rate, severe OM and opportunistic infection affect treatment adversely.

The aim of the present study is to investigate salivary and serum 8-OHdG and MDA levels as well as total antioxidant status (TAS) in females with CP and PCOS compared with healthy females.
Methods: Four groups, each consisting of 22 individuals, were: 1) women with both PCOS and CP (PCOSCP); 2) systemically healthy women with CP; 3) periodontally healthy women with PCOS (PCOSPH); and 4) periodontally and systemically healthy women (PH).
Fetuin-A is a potent inhibitor of calcium-phosphate precipitation and of the calcification process, therefore it can also be related with dental calculus. Thus, we aimed to investigate a possible relationship between fetuin-A gene polymorphism and the presence of dental calculus. A possible relationship between serum, saliva and gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) levels of fetuin-A was also investigated.

It also has a high affinity for Ca and hydroxyapatite. In this study we aimed to evaluate the MGP rs4236 [A/G] gene polymorphism in association with subgingival dental calculus.

Material And Methods: Thirty-three furcation defects were included in the study. Seventeen of these defects were treated with GTR plus LLLT, and sixteen of them were treated with GTR alone.
