HPV, especially high-risk types 16 and 18, is considered a necessary cause of anal squamous cell carcinoma. Certain populations like people living with HIV, men who have sex with men, inflammatory bowel disease patients, smokers, and those with compromised immunity face elevated risk.

A State-of-the-Art Review on the Recent Advances in Exosomes in Oncogenic Virus.

Background And Aims: Oncogenic viruses are responsible for approximately 12% of human malignancies, influencing various cancer processes through intricate interactions with host cells. Exosomes (EXOs), nanometric-sized microvesicles involved in cell communication, have emerged as critical mediators in these interactions. This review aims to explore the mechanisms by which EXOs produced by cells infected with oncogenic viruses promote cancer growth, enhance viral transmissibility, and act as immunomodulators.

Orbital and peri-ocular parffinoma: case series and literature review.

Background: Paraffinoma is a rare and intriguing condition in medicine. In this disorder, an orbital lipogranulomatosis reaction is caused by the penetration of mineral oils (particularly paraffin) into the tissues surrounding the eye.

Taylor-Aris (T-A) dispersion of a solute in a flowing solvent is a fundamental phenomenon in most mass-transfer processes. Despite its significance and numerous applications in microreactors, colloidal transport in confined media, chromatographic separation, and transport in biological tissues, the effect of the slip length and the topology of surface potential landscapes on T-A dispersion in nanostructured channels has not been studied in detail. We propose a novel methodology for molecular dynamics (MD) simulation of T-A dispersion in such systems, derive an analytical expression for the dispersion coefficient in them, and report on the results of extensive MD simulations of the phenomenon in carbon nanotubes and hexagonal carbon nanochannels.

One- vs Two- vertical muscle surgery in the management of unilateral superior oblique muscle palsy with hypertropia over 20 PD.

To compare the surgical outcomes of One- versus Two-vertical muscle surgery in patients with unilateral superior oblique muscle palsy (SOP) with primary position hypertropia (HT) over 20 PD. Patients in Group 1 underwent inferior oblique anterior transposition plus resection (IOATR), while patients in Group 2 underwent inferior oblique anterior transposition (IOAT) along with contralateral inferior rectus (IR) recession. Medical data of all SOP patients treated by either procedure from 2000 to 2023 in our strabismus center were recruited.

Synthesis, Radiolabeling, and Biodistribution Study of a Novel DOTA-Peptide for Targeting Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptors in the Molecular Imaging of Breast Cancer.

As angiogenesis plays a pivotal role in tumor progression and metastasis, leading to more cancer-related deaths, the angiogenic process can be considered as a target for diagnostic and therapeutic applications. The vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-1 (VEGR-1) and VEGFR-2 have high expression on breast cancer cells and contribute to angiogenesis and tumor development. Thus, early diagnosis through VEGFR-1/2 detection is an excellent strategy that can significantly increase a patient's chance of survival.

Novel Gd-DTPA-peptide for targeted breast tumor magnetic resonance imaging.

This study introduces a novel contrast agent, Gd-DTPA-VGB3, derived from the peptide VGB3 targeting vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-1 (VEGFR1) and VEGFR2, to enhance the contrast of conventional drug Magnevist in breast tumor MRI. The MRI contrast agent was synthesized on rink amide resin via Fmoc strategy, incorporating amino acids, and coupling to diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (DTPA).

The Potential Radioprotective Effect of Piperine against Radiation-induced Lung Injury in Mice: Histopathological and Biochemical Evaluations.

Introduction: It has been hypothesized that piperine, the main alkaloid component of black pepper, possesses a unique radioprotective effect. This study aimed to investigate the protective effect of piperine against Radiation-Induced Lung Injury (RILI) in mice.

Methods: Firstly, eighty male mice were divided into eight groups; the control group did not receive any dosage of piperine and radiation (6 Gy), and the other groups received piperine alone at doses 10, 25, and 50 mg/kg, radiation, and radiation-piperine combination (6 Gy + 10, 25, and 50 mg/kg).

Background: We aimed to employ Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography (OCTA) to comprehensively assess changes in the optic nerve head (ONH) and macular perfusion before and after the Corneal Collagen Cross-Linking (CCL) procedure in patients with keratoconus.

Methods: A total of 22 keratoconus patient's candidate for CCL procedures were included based on specific criteria, with meticulous exclusion criteria in place to minimize potential confounders. Participants underwent OCTA assessments of the ONH and macula using the Spectralis OCT (Heidelberg) before CCL, as well as at 1- and 3-months post-CCL.

Background: Obesity is one the most prevalent diseases all around the world. Some studies have shown a relationship between obesity and the worsening of rheumatic disorders. Higher rates of surgical complications might also be seen among these patients.

The Combination of Estradiol and -Acetylcysteine Reduces Ischemia-Reperfusion Injuries of Mice Autografted Ovarian Tissue.

Ischemia-reperfusion injuries are important issues after ovarian tissue transplantation (OTT). Our study examined the effects of -acetylcysteine (NAC) and estradiol (E2) on mouse ovarian autografts. Mice (6-8 weeks) were divided into ovarian autograft as follows: Control: fresh OTT; Sham: cryopreserved/warmed OTT; NAC: cryopreserved/warmed OTT with NAC treatment; E2: cryopreserved/warmed OTT with E2 treatment; NAC+E2: cryopreserved/warmed OTT with the treatment of NAC and E2.

Psychometrics of the Persian version of the COVID-19-related health literacy in the Iranian population.

Background: Since the occurrence of the COVID-19 pandemic, information dissemination has increased rapidly. Promoting health literacy is currently crucial to prepare people to respond quickly to situations, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the importance of health literacy in this critical situation, we are looking for a questionnaire to measure COVID-19 health literacy.

Health condition of Afghan refugees residing in Iran in comparison to Germany: a systematic review of empirical studies.
