[Dental caries in two incas populations. a cross-sectional study].

Objective: Compare: frequency, severity and location of dental caries between archaeological populations of the Sacsayhuamán and Machupicchu samples.

Material And Methods: This was a retrospective, cross-sectional and observational study. The variable dental caries was observed directly in the Sacsayhuamán and Machupicchu samples from the Cusco culture directorate.

Background: Most studies assessing the sensitivity and specificity of caries detection methods have been performed in vitro using the histological method as the gold standard showing inconsistent values. The aim of this study was to compare the sensitivity and specificity in detecting occlusal caries using the International Caries Detection and Assessment System (ICDAS II) with the radiographic method (RM), while using the Spectra™ Caries Detection System (SCDS) as the reference test.

Methods: One hundred sixty children, ages 7-12 years, participated in the study.

[Analysis of root sealing using methylene blue in different endodontic obturation techniques. Literature review].

One of the biggest drawbacks in endodontic filling is the problem of insufficient root sealing, due to the microleakage of bacteria into the canal. The objective of the research was to carry out a narrative review of the characteristics of the use of methylene blue as an evaluator of microleakage in studies that compared the quality of root sealing with different endodontic filling techniques. The research method used was literature review.
